Job description

IBM Watson Health Government Health & Human Services, is currently looking for an experienced Data Governance Architect to join our Atlanta, GA team.

As an Data Governance Architect Lead you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and leading data governance. You will collaborate with Business Line data stewards to advance and optimize the adoption of enterprise data marts and will institute and facilitate governance on enterprise business and technical metadata and data quality routines and frameworks. You will also leverage data profiling and governance tools to explore data, uncover new insights, to manage data from an enterprise perspective.

*Must be able to work from the Smyrna, GA office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
·  Work with the client to establish their data governance organization and processes to help govern their data as an enterprise asset.
·  Work with the Metadata Lead to institute, manage, and maintain technical and business metadata glossaries.
·  Work with the Master Data Management Lead to assess, manage, and maintain business rules oriented around master data management initiatives.
·  Work with data analysts and scientists to profile data from different sources to understand its data quality issues and anomalies.
·  Work with Data Integration Lead to navigate complex data environments, combine, and cleanse/transform data from different data sources, and understand data without formal data structure and metadata.
·  Maintain necessary processes, controls, and procedures to ensure data accuracy and business functionality and comply with data governance, privacy, and security policies.
·  Lead and influence customers to adopt data governance & data quality principles while ensuring that the customer takes ownership of their processes.
·  Serve as a coach and mentor to other team members, challenging them to stretch their skillset to the next level.
·  Lead or collaborate with data architecture teams to ensure that data governance is incorporated into data models to support implementations.
·  Lead or collaborate with data integration teams to ensure data quality and metadata strategies are in place for implementations.
·  Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure that metadata data quality and data governance components are installed correctly and on time.
·  Create data governance, metadata, and data quality architectures and implementation standards.
·  Review and provide feedback for data models, implementation strategies, etc. ensuring that data governance, metadata, and data quality standards are met. Apply now to explore this opportunity with us!

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  5+ years of experience in health care information governance at an enterprise level.
·  5+ years of experience in management role with industry data governance, data quality, and master data management tools.
·  Track record of successful and effective communication skills, verbal and written

·  Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or other Industry related certifications
·  Experience with IBM's InfoSphere Information Server and or Informatica's data governance tools.
·  Familiar with MITA principles

·  3+ years data quality and profiling experience.
