Introduction
We are looking for an Cloud DevOps Engineer to join the IBM Video Streaming team.
As an Cloud DevOps Engineer at IBM Video Streaming, you will maintain and continuously develop the streaming platform which contains hundreds of machines and services in 30 data centers, petabytes of video data, and serves millions of viewers and broadcasters all over the world.
The infrastructure workload is spread across multi-cloud providers, consisting of virtual machines, bare-metal servers, and Kubernetes clusters.
We continuously improve our tools and methods to make our systems to be more robust, scalable, and easier to maintain.
You will have the opportunity to learn and work with tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Docker, Chef, Ansible, Java, Golang, RabbitMQ, Jenkins and many others.

Your Role and Responsibilities

A sneak peek into this role :
As a Cloud Devops Engineer you will be:

·  Participate in unique and challenging cross-team projects
·  Maintaining IBM's video streaming solutions
·  Modernize complex legacy systems to container-based solutions
·  Ensure to comply with the industry standards and regulations
·  Continuously improving the systems monitoring
·  Develop and deploy changes via infrastructure as code
·  As part of the team, you will provide code reviews to the other team members
·  Provide on-call duty for the supported systems

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

What you will bring to the team :

·  Possessing a DevOps mindset: you feel responsible for both the operation and the code developed by the team
·  Experience in some of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Python, C
·  Aware of Cloud-Based services and solutions (IBM Cloud, VMs, Kubernetes)
·  Understanding CI/CD pipelines
·  Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)
·  Reading and writing in English
·  Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with the following are bonus points, but not necessary, you can learn them at IBM :
We embrace T-shaped engineering skills. The more these apply to you, the better.

·  Being able to troubleshoot problems in unfamiliar environments
·  Technical documentation writing skills
·  Experience in monitoring systems (Prometheus, Nagios)
·  System administration and automation skills​
·  Experience with functional programming (e.g. Clojure)
·  Experience with Docker and container orchestration solutions (Kubernetes) and Helm
·  Working experience with configuration management systems (Chef) and infrastructure as code systems (Terraform)
·  Experience with Jenkins CI
·  Experience with CDN providers (eg. Akamai, Fastly)
·  Experience in video streaming technologies
