Global Cloud Managed Services (CMS) provides an opportunity to work with the teams around the world. We build global data centers for IBM Cloud Computing offering in several sites all over the world. Because of multilayer design of infrastructure, you will have a chance to gain knowledge of technologies that are out of area of expertise via multiple cross-skilling possibilities.
This role's responsibility is day to day working on virtualization solutions, high availability, Cloud Computing, automation, innovations, provisioning in IBM CMS project. AIX Cloud Engineer will provide enterprise-wide Unix System infrastructure support for complex system and interconnected technologies that require day-to-day support and administration in order to maintain optimum performance and utilization on highly critical projects.
Required proficiency in:
• Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins/GoCD,Test Automation and Release Management
• Experience with Linux operating system administration and troubleshooting
• Experience with the System p and AIX platform
• Experience with the design of AIX environments
• Experience in data center planning and administration
• Network services management (NTP, DNS server, IMAP/SMTP/POP3 server, FTP server, Apache, NFS, etc.)
• UNIX performance tuning (I/O, Virtual Memory Manager, LVM)
• Hardware virtualization (PowerVM)
• Software virtualization (WPARs / KVM)
• LVM (AIX / Linux)
• UNIX PXE boot; install process using BOOTP/TFTP/DHCP protocols (AIX NIM)
• Networking area - deep understanding of LAN concepts and standards (Etherchannel 802.3ad, 802.1Q VLANs, source routing, firewalls, NAT)
• SAN concepts, infrastructure components (port addressing, multipathing, zoning)
Required experience with:
• Enterprise systems deployment (IBM Power servers/ HMCs / VMWare ESX / x86)
• Scripting languages (Perl, Python, ksh, csh, bash)
• Administration of Name Services (LDAP)
• High availability solutions (PowerHA SystemMirror / RHEL HA Add-On / Tivoli Systems Automation)
