Job description

The Client Technical Solutioner role is responsible for the development of technical GTS Services solutions. They spend 20-40% of their time interfacing directly with the client. They are responsible for the overall success of the solution design and cost development in one technology specialty: Hybrid Cloud Services. They present, review and modify the solution, with the internal/external client and key stakeholders, to meet deal requirements and to close the deal for IBM. They leverage the full breadth of services, labor, assets, and software products to develop complex, multi-year solutions and optimized cost cases that meet client requirements and needs considering the client's base case and IBM's profitability. A Client technical Solutioner owns the definition of services solutions, within their job role scope, fills a critical role in the overall success of the engagement pursuit and is the primary source of IBM solution design and development around the world. They work in conjunction with the larger pursuit team (Sales, TSM, HR, C&N, Delivery, Pricing, Risk, etc.) to deliver a winning solution. The employee Influences the functional strategy. Environment skills: Professional knowledge of function, business unit or country operations. Understand organizational resources, priorities, needs and policies. Communication/Negotiation: Guide other professionals. Adapt communications and approaches to conclude negotiations with various partners, resulting in common agreements. Problem Solving: Analyses complex/new situations, anticipate potential problems and future trends, assess opportunities, impacts, and risks. Develop and implement solutions. They provide leadership and initiative to deliver new and complex high-quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. They incorporate in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business results. They utilize a combination of IBM standard and custom solutions and they develop complex, multiple year, custom solutions and associated cost cases, all with the goal to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services and/or solutions which meet client business and technical requirements and fulfil IBM's obligations. They are a key player within the engagement team collaborating on innovative ideas using proven approaches to deliver a winning solution.

The Client Technical Solutioner - Resiliency has advanced knowledge of disaster recovery design and architecture, including disk replication technologies, such as IBM Global Mirror, EMC SRD/A; software-based replication, such as Zerto and MIMIX for IBM.
They have knowledge of solutions and products to improve the RTO and RPO including OEM technology such as EMC / SRDFA, Hitachi VSP / HUR, HP Replication, Vision Technology, IBM Global Mirror, Virtual Tape Libraries, Appliance based DAaaS, IBM Cloud Resiliency Orchestration and technologies of replication such as Zerto or vSphere Replicator. The CTS Resiliency also is an expert in DR, backup and storage solutions in physical and virtual environments, including all related to apps and DBs. They also have knowledge in Resiliency orchestration and understand the requirements to achieve RTO and RPO.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in development and/or delivery of BaaS and Disaster Recovery solutions
Knowledge in the following areas is required to successfully perform the role:
• Cloud Resiliency Orchestration.
• Cloud Virtualized Server recovery
• Understand both the physical and logical requirements required to achieve RTO and RPO.
• Extensive knowledge of business processes, including disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management
• Knowledge of backup and storage solutions in both physical and virtual environments.
• Must be familiar with compute such as IBM Mainframe (desirable), AIX, Intel, Hyper Visor technologies (VMware, RedHat)
• WAN, LAN networking concepts
• High level concepts of High Availability / Storage
• Costing experience applied to technical solutions
• Experiences working on engagements, projects, or transitions
