Job description

Introduction
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Software Defined Networking (SDN) Business unit focuses on software based networking, an architecture approach that enables network to be intelligently and centrally controlled using software, everywhere from the data center to the campus to the edge.

The NS1 Connect Platform provides the rock solid Managed DNS and dynamic Traffic Steering capabilities for the modern hybrid network. We're connecting audiences to applications, and we're looking for engineers to help drive innovation harnessing the DNS.

We’re looking for a self-driven engineer who can immerse themselves in our platform immediately, leveraging existing technical strengths and teaching themselves the systems that are new to them. You should have broad knowledge of the technologies in modern infrastructure operations and automation and be able to offer constructive advice for improvements while using and scaling the systems in our existing platform. You’ll take responsibility for the quality of your code, and your daily work will have an immediate impact.

You'll work closely with product managers, designers and architects to turn concepts into functional applications. Your responsibilities will include:
• Building and maintaining web applications using Go and Python
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Leveraging your experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure to build integrations with the NS1 Connect API
• Applying your UNIX and networking knowledge to ensure the robustness and scalability of our applications.
• Contributing to the design of distributed systems, considering modern internet infrastructure operations such as metrics, logging, and automation.
• Extra kudos for demonstrating your familiarity with the DNS protocol, security best practices, and Kubernetes
