Associate Technical Content Strategist
Hursley (Hampshire) Bachelor's Degree IT development
Job description
Who Are We?
IBM Z is the World's most powerful business platform. Today 68% of enterprise production workloads, 80% of structured enterprise data, and 55% of all enterprise transactions, including more than 50% of the back-end transactions generated from mobile enterprise applications, run on IBM Z. We are embarking on an exciting journey to transform the developer experience on IBM Z by embracing disruptive technologies spanning all aspects of development and deployment.
To succeed with our transformation we need the best people running all aspects of our business from Product Positioning through to Design, Development and Support. Do you want to be part of this exciting journey and deliver innovation that matters on the platform that runs the world's core businesses?
The Role
Content strategy has long been applied to marketing content and now is the time to take those principles and apply them to all product content. Digital content in particular has exploded into every stage of the engagement that we have with products and services, giving us new and rich opportunities to optimize content at every stage of the user experience journey.
We're taking it to another level by applying all the good things about marketing content strategy to our technical content - the content that enables our clients to understand and use our software products. We want an associate technical content strategist to help lead the charge in getting a structured, consistent, and efficient approach to our portfolio of technical content.
You'll take overall responsibility for our technical content across the user journey, from the initial content that users need to discover potential solutions, right through to the content that they need to run those solutions for real in their businesses. You'll work alongside the wider organization, aligning technical content assets and messaging across deliverables and channels. In an agile way, you will monitor engagement levels and refine your strategy and content in response. As well as driving content stakeholders, you'll actively engage in the content development process yourself and have the ability to create compelling content. You'll have the support of existing technical content strategists, a team of experienced technical content developers, a large network of subject matter experts, and access to users in our clients.
The Location
IBM Hursley Park is one of IBM's longest standing (recently celebrating 60 years as an IBM site) and largest software development labs in Europe. The offices, nestled into private parkland and included amongst them the original grand Queen Anne style country house, form an incredible backdrop for this established and respected community of technology experts. Hursley receives continuous investment from IBM and the facilities on site include: a new gym, social areas, restaurant, games room, cafes, club house and bar, sports fields, sports hall, tennis courts and the beautiful grounds ideal for a stroll at lunch or enjoying a picnic in the summer. Locally, there are excellent schools and transport links including, Southampton and Portsmouth ports and Southampton Airport. London is a little over an hour away from Winchester Train station, and the New Forest is nearby. Engagement is at the heart of being an IBMer and at Hursley this is particularly apparent with the variety of opportunities to participate in clubs, projects, patenting and community outreach. In fact, the culture of collaboration is why so many feel they belong here and find it such a fulfilling place to work.
