Promontory established its London office in 2006, bringing its extensive global resources to one of the world's most international and dynamic financial centres. Promontory acts as the trusted advisor throughout boardrooms of major financial institutions in the UK most often advising on highly confidential matters and working at the cutting edge of regulatory reform.
Senior management at Promontory UK consists of an elite, highly regarded team of former senior regulators, experienced industry practitioners, and consulting professionals. They advise their clients on the implications of a rapidly changing regulatory environment and support them in how to respond.
Promontory is particularly well-equipped to assist companies in navigating both UK and EU regulatory issues and is listed on the “Skilled Persons” Panel for s.166 reviews commissioned by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority. The team covers all financial sectors, including universal, retail and investment banks, retail and wholesale insurance companies, brokers, asset managers, consumer credit firms and hedge funds.
Promontory's well-regarded Global Privacy & Data Protection Practice is headquartered in London, and has assisted many firms in responding to increasingly strict data-protection requirements.
Promontory's London team has successfully completed numerous engagements across a wide range of disciplines, including:
• Risk Management — Reviewing the structure and effectiveness of control contributors such as enterprise risk management, compliance, and internal-audit functions, and providing high-level insight or deeper portfolio reviews for aspects of credit, market, operational, and other risk classes.
• Conduct of Business — reviewing financial promotions, quality of advice, sales practices, claims handling, and complaints handling.
• Prudential Issues — Capital planning (including Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process preparation), liquidity management (including Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment preparation), and stress-testing reviews.
• Financial Crime — assisting in the development and execution of a wide range of financial-crime-related topics, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions, and Market Abuse.
• Regulatory Advice — providing insights into regulatory developments in the U.K., European Union, and United States, enabling clients to develop appropriate national and global regulatory strategies.
• Acquisitions — assisting clients in understanding the regulatory impact of potential business acquisitions or restructurings, in an advisory capacity or by performing specific work (for example, through due diligence on the broad control infrastructure or asset-portfolio reviews).
• Organisational Enhancement — helping senior management teams improve the ability of their firms to deliver sustainable compliance, through efforts to redesign and improve their governance (including through board-effectiveness reviews), organisation, culture, or core processes such as strategic planning, product development, and sales management.
• Preparing senior management teams for supervisory risk assessments, business-model reviews, and approved-person interviews.
• Privacy — developing data-protection governance strategies and helping firms put in place programs to deal with data-security breaches, complaints, investigations, or audit requests.

At Promontory, you will work alongside an impressive team of thought leaders in the financial services industry, including former senior advisors and consultants, financial services regulators, senior corporate executives and central bankers. You will learn from the best in the industry and will be intellectually challenged from the day you commence employment.
The culture is described by those who work at Promontory as a fast growing, emerging global firm with some fundamental qualities running through the organisation. The firm is entrepreneurial by nature but its people also demonstrate the rigour and discipline you would expect of individuals who have spent time in a regulator, financial institution, government department, central bank or in an advisory or consulting firm.
Promontory has an ethical approach to working with its clients and pursues an agenda of “doing the right thing” by their clients in order to help the financial services industry better serve its customers. Promontory people talk of a collegial, informal and non-hierarchical organisation which offers direct access to Board and senior-level executives across major financial institutions in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for additional associates to join our Financial Crime Risk Management Team. These roles offer bright and ambitious individuals an excellent opportunity to develop their careers and experience and build their expertise in financial services. The individuals selected for these positions will work directly with the most senior staff in the firm, will be exposed to a wide range of issues, and will work with a range of clients.

The Associate position with Promontory Financial Group (UK) Ltd is the next step in your developing career. As an Associate, you will gain unique hands-on experience in business development, client work, and other projects. You will be challenged to develop your knowledge in our areas of expertise, the financial services industry, and our clients' business issues while building your skills in communications, problem solving and consulting.
