The Application Developer position provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into worldwide applications for a segment of IBM's Software Group that is growing rapidly. Also, use the industry trend of Agile practices daily to deliver business value.
· Work in an agile environment, be responsible for the development, test and support of IBM internal applications
· Ensure adherence to data standards and agile development methodology
· Adopt test driven development methodology
· Code and test DB2 procedures, Datastage, and Unix scripts
· Utilize DevOps for continuous development, test, deployment, feedback and support
· Follow up with issues and drive things to completion
· Resolve data issues as needed
· Participate in daily Agile scrum (stand up) calls to provide updates on tasks completed, in progress and blockers
· Fully participate iteration planning, squad retrospective and showcase meetings
· Work cooperatively with squad members
· Continue to expand development skills
· Innovation and continuous improvement
· Client and team interaction requires strong written and oral communication and listening skills
A day in the life at IBM
· Throughout the day, you will collaborate with your teammates and interact with our product owners – all while being based out of our Littleton, MA office.
· Participate and/or lead lunch and learn sessions
· Take a break and have fun by participating with other IBMer's in a game of pool, ping pong or foosball
· Take advantage of our on-site exercise room which includes cardio and weights
· Work in an open environment where creativity is welcome and encouraged
· Staying relevant to emerging trends in areas related to Information Management
