Your Role and Responsibilities
Start and end dates for this internship are during summer 2024 (3 months)
"May - August" or "June - September" for quarter system schools.
IBM Software is looking for a UX Research Intern for our San Jose, California location. This intern role will work with one of our IBM Software product teams and will have the following responsibilities:
· Assist in the planning and execution of user experience research including: usability studies, interviews, competitive evaluations, surveys, expert heuristic evaluations, card sorts, tree tests, task analyses, etc.
· This internship provides a chance to join a well-established group of researchers in a mature organization.
· Help prepare data collection materials (e.g., discussion guides), help synthesize user research findings, co-create presentations, and participate in the general documentation of research techniques and processes.
· Work collaboratively with cross-functional peers on the product team to understand and measure user experience for IBM Software products.
· The ideal candidate will be passionate about working on complex software projects.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Demonstrated success turning generative and evaluative research insights into design recommendations that align with core business goals
· Experience conducting research throughout the entire product development lifecycle
· Experience working with enterprise software (agile/continuous delivery desired)
· Experience managing projects involving crossfunctional teams
· Must be able to create a dendrogram on an etchasketch with their eyes closed
· 6 months to 2 years of relevant experience with above skills
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
· Awareness of inclusive design practices and accessibility standards
· Familiarity with design systems
