Hyatt House Johannesburg is looking for a Sales Manager who knows how to open doors — and keep them open. This isn't a desk job with a fancy title. It's a front-line commercial role where you'll own relationships, chase revenue, and help shape how two growing hotels compete in one of Africa's most dynamic corporate markets.

Key Responsibilities

You'll carry a target and be expected to hit it. You'll manage a portfolio of key accounts across corporate, travel trade, and extended-stay segments while hunting for new business that moves the needle. You'll run site inspections, entertain clients, conduct competitor shops, and represent the hotels in the market with credibility and energy. You'll work closely with Revenue Management and the broader commercial team to make sure the business you bring in is the right business — not just any business.

Day to day, that means professional sales calls using Hyatt's consultative selling approach, disciplined pipeline management, sharp reporting, and the ability to read a market and act on what you see. You'll also mentor and support junior team members as the sales function continues to grow.

What we need from you

      •     Solid sales track record in hospitality — ideally in a hotel environment, but strong candidates from adjacent industries with relevant transferable skills will be considered

      •     Commercial instinct — you understand rate, volume, mix, and why they matter

      •     Confidence in front of clients and in a boardroom

      •     Self-starter energy — you manage your own diary, your own pipeline, your own results

      •     Strong admin discipline — CRM hygiene, call reports, forecasting, none of it optional
