Job description
1.Responsible for the issuing and distribution of inventory items within the Hotel, and for the accurate and timely allocation of costs to user department.
2. Ensures that hotel expenses are minimised through the use of effective purchasing and by obtaining the most competitive prices for goods and
services.
3. Conducts regular market surveys, obtains competitive quotations and aggressively negotiating in order to reap the maximum price benefits of
purchasing power.
4. Keeps inventories as low as possible to properly supply the operation’s needs and maximise inventory turnover and space utilisation.
5. Ensures that inventory items are stored properly and issued in FIFO rotation to minimise wastage and spoilage.
6. Monitors all cost in the Materials Department and initiates and maintains measures to control these.
7.Implements and enforces all operating and control procedures to ensure that movement of goods into and within the Hotel is properly accounted for.
8.Establishes and enforces internal control Policies & Procedures throughout the department, regarding purchasing, receiving, inventory control,
issuing and emergency issuing.
9.Contributes to all forecasting and business planned activities by providing historical information and cost projections.
10.You will be responsible for the efficient running of the division in line with Hyatt Hotels Corporation's Corporate Strategic Priorities, whilst
meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. Responsible for the planning and procurement of material, including vendor development and
administration of contracted services in accordance with the hotel policy and procedures.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
1. Ideally with a university degree or diploma in Finance or Hospitality/Tourism management.
2.Minimum 2 years work experience as Material Manager, or Purchasing Manager in larger operation.
3. Good problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.
