Job description

We are looking for a Purchasing Clerk to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.

Expected to open in Q3 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital – and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon. Located in the center of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district and situated along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of one of the major banks in Portugal, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This central building of the hotel will offer 170 guestrooms, with the surrounding four satellite buildings of the hotel offering guests various private suites to choose from. This unique Urban Resort in the city center will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.

We are looking for a talented and passionate Purchasing Clerk to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.

Responsibilities:

· Receiving Goods : Verify and inspect incoming goods against purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in quality and quantity.
· Inventory Management : Calculate figures for food inventories, orders, and costs. Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs.
· Order Processing : Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies. Create purchase orders, receive goods, and manage inventory using inventory and ordering systems.
· Vendor Coordination : Verify and track received inventory, reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports, and troubleshoot vendor delivery issues.
· Quality Control : Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items. Ensure product quality and timely delivery.
· Compliance : Adhere to food safety and handling policies, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and comply with safety and OSHA standards.
· Record Keeping : Maintain clear and organized records, complete inventory reports and logs, and ensure all reports and invoices are filed and stored properly.
· Team Collaboration : Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees, support team goals, and respond appropriately to concerns.

Qualifications :

Qualifications:

·  Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
·  Experience : 1-2 years of purchasing/storeroom/receiving experience in a high-volume luxury hotel environment.
·  Skills : Computer literacy (Excel, inventory control software), attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize, good negotiation skills, and fair vendor management.
·  Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 15 kilos, work on feet most of the day, and use a hand cart or dolly.
