Job description
Administration
§ To assist the Human Resource Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the Human Resources Division, ensuring that all the policies and procedures outlined in the Departmental Operations Manual are strictly adhered to.
§ To assist in the preparation and update the Human Resources Departmental Operations Manual.
§ To ensure that all employee training records are kept up to date.
§ To attend Departmental Communication Meetings as scheduled.
Customer Service
§ To support the hotel's focus on service excellence by training and assisting others to train people to provide exceptional service to the hotel's external customers (guests).
§ To provide the appropriate level of professional, courteous and caring service to other employees (internal customers) and other visitors to the division.
Financial
§ To plan and monitor the hotel's Training Budget.
§ To ensure that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
Marketing
§ To assist the Human Resource Manager with the compilation and implementation of all employee communications.
§ To ensure that all in-house rules and regulations are communicated to employees and implemented.
Operational
§ To review the progress of the hotel's Training Plan and make recommendations where necessary.
§ To assist the Executive Committee and Heads of Department in identifying the training needs within each department.
§ To co-ordinate and monitor the hotel's Training Plan.
§ To assist with the compilation of the hotel's / department's Departmental Operations Manuals.
§ To assist with the monitoring of departmental standards as defined in the Departmental Operations Manual.
§ To be responsible for the security and maintenance of the hotel's Training Room, Training Equipment and Materials.
§ To advise the Human Resource Manager of any new support material that would be beneficial to the hotel.
§ To ensure that the recommended quota of Departmental Trainers are trained for each department.
§ To ensure the maximum utilisation of Departmental Trainers in each department.
§ To plan, implement and monitor, in conjunction with other members of the Human Resources Division both General/Core and Management Training:
§ To implement and monitor the company's training materials, including Training For Your Future, Leadership Series, Harvard Manage Mentor and other e-learning initiatives.
§ To co ordinate and monitor the Hyatt training programmes.
§ To monitor the performance of the Foreign Language Trainer, ensuring that they are developed to their maximum potential and efficiency.
Personnel
§ To support the development of supervisory and management personnel in the hotel, through the implementation of effective management training programmes.
§ To ensure a strong professional relationship with all levels of employees within the hotel, taking an active interest in their safety and development.
§ To support the implementation of The People Philosophy in every department in the hotel.
Other Duties
§ To maintain strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organisations, including local schools, hotel schools and universities.
§ To respond to changes in the Human Resources function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
§ To read the hotel's Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
§ To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
§ To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
