Job description
Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles hotel is looking for an IT Manager is responsible for overseeing an organization's technology infrastructure, managing IT staff, and ensuring that systems and networks operate efficiently and securely.
Main Duties:
Operational
§ To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following Hyatt Regency Harare's Standards of Performance.
§ To have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of Work to the standard set.
§ To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
§ To assist authorized users in relation to operation of the hotel's I.S. systems' hardware, various modules and supporting personal computers.
§ To ensure that preventive maintenance required by any I.S. equipment in the hotel is carried out appropriately.
§ To coordinate the timely repair and return to service of any faulty systems or items of equipment.
§ To establish and implement procedures to ensure the backup of data in any I.S. systems.
§ To rebuild data corrupted by either hardware or software faults.
§ To coordinate the investigation and timely handling of any software fault reports or enhancement requests.
§ To set up emergency procedures to continue the operation of the hotel in the event of system failure.
§ To provide manuals on the use of any I.S. systems and incorporate those manuals into the relevant operating procedures of the hotel.
§ To arrange the distribution of Night Audit and other regularly system-produced reports.
§ To establish necessary security measures to prevent unauthorized access to the I.S. systems.
§ To provide technical assistance to Internal or External Audit staff.
§ To work with the Sales & Marketing Department and Operational Departments to set up and maintain clean relevant databases for management purpose.
§ To handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
Administration
§ To ensure the continuous availability of a hierarchy to deal with an emergency in any essential I.S. system.
§ To ensure the availability of any stationery or consumables required by any I.S. systems.
§ To keep the software in the Property Management System up to the current release as instructed by the Area Director of I.S.
§ To advise the management of the hotel on additional facilities which could be provided by either existing or further I.S. systems and technological advances.
§ To ensure that all licenses are complete and up to date.
§ To assume the functions and responsibilities of Duty Manager in accordance with the Hotel's Duty Manager's Roster.
Personnel
§ To recruit and select I.S. employees who are able to work within the decentralized Management Philosophy, following Financial, Operational and Administrative Philosophies outlined above and who understand and support Hyatt's Philosophy of Multi Skilling and Multi-Tasking.
§ To ensure effective training programs for staff in liaison with the Learning and Development Manager.
§ To ensure that the Information Systems Administrator maximizes productivity and morale and consistently maintain discipline following Hotel Policies & Procedures and local legislation.
§ To assist in the building of an efficient team of employees through Multi Skilling, Multi-Tasking and flexible scheduling and by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
§ To prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with workload and priorities for the approval by the Director of Finance.
§ To conduct yearly performance appraisal and give employees regular feedback on their job performance.
§ To ensure that all employees provide a courteous and professional service at all times.

Qualifications:
The ideal person must possess the following:
§ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
§ Professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP, Microsoft, Cisco) are desirable.
§ Minimum 3 years' proven experience in IT management, preferably within the Hospitality sector.
§ Strong knowledge of IT systems such as POS, inventory management, and cybersecurity.
§ Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
§ Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
§ Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and conducting statistical analysis.
