Job description

The Housekeeping Team Leader is responsible for supervising daily housekeeping activities and ensuring guest rooms, corridors, and assigned areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene. The role supports and guides housekeeping colleagues, conducts inspections, coordinates guest requests, and ensures efficient service aligned with luxury hospitality standards.
Main Duties:

· Supervise daily housekeeping operations across assigned guest rooms, floors, corridors, and service areas to ensure cleanliness and operational efficiency.
· Allocate daily room assignments and special tasks according to occupancy levels, guest movements, operational priorities, and team availability.
· Inspect vacant, occupied, arrival, departure, and out-of-order rooms to ensure cleanliness, presentation, functionality, and compliance with established standards.
· Conduct team briefings and communicate room priorities, VIP arrivals, special requests, guest preferences, and important operational updates.
· Train, coach, and guide Room Attendants and Housekeeping colleagues in cleaning procedures, room presentation, chemical usage, and luxury service standards.
· Monitor room-cleaning progress and update room status accurately to support timely room release and smooth coordination with Front Office.
· Coordinate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other departments regarding room readiness, maintenance concerns, linen requirements, and guest requests.
· Ensure VIP rooms, suites, amenities, special arrangements, and personalized preferences are prepared accurately before guest arrival.
· Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, enquiries, and concerns, ensuring appropriate action, follow-up, and service recovery.
· Report and follow up on maintenance defects, damaged items, missing equipment, and health or safety concerns identified during room inspections.
· Monitor linen, guest supplies, cleaning materials, and operating equipment, ensuring correct usage, storage, replenishment, and inventory control.
· Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, chemical-handling, safety, security, lost-and-found, key-control, and company procedures.
· Maintain the cleanliness and organization of housekeeping pantries, linen rooms, trolleys, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces.
· Monitor colleague productivity, attendance, grooming, and performance, providing feedback and escalating concerns to the Housekeeping management team when required.
· Prepare daily reports, handover notes, inspection records, and operational updates while supporting the department during peak periods and special projects.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping Operations, or a related discipline is preferred.
·  Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping experience, including supervisory or team-leading exposure, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment.
·  Strong knowledge of guest-room cleaning, room inspections, linen management, chemical handling, hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping safety procedures.
·  Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping colleagues while maintaining productivity and consistent quality standards.
·  Excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication, and guest-relations skills, with the ability to manage priorities during high-occupancy periods.
·  Basic proficiency in housekeeping or property-management systems, with the ability to update room status, maintain operational records, and coordinate effectively with other departments.
