Engineering Manager

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the opening of Hyatt Place AlUla.

Hyatt Place AlUla represents a significant milestone in Hyatt's expansion across the region and will feature 214 guestrooms, two food and beverage outlets, meeting space, swimming pool and a fitness center appealing to both leisure and business travelers.

Your Role

As the Engineering Manager , you'll be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations and ensuring the property remains safe, efficient, and in top condition. You will lead a small, hands-on team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through proactive facility management and prompt service.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring all equipment, systems, and facilities operate safely and efficiently.
· Manage preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment.
· Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum satisfaction.
· Supervise and train maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Maintain compliance with local codes, safety standards, and brand maintenance guidelines.
· Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.
· Prepare and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and capital planning.
· Support sustainability initiatives and ensure energy conservation practices are implemented.
· Partner with the General Manager and department heads to ensure seamless operations across the property.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Qualifications

·  Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a hotel engineering or facilities management role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
·  Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems.
·  Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
·  Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams effectively.
·  Technical certifications or trade licenses preferred.
·  Availability to respond to emergencies and participate in an on-call rotation.
