We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of VICE PRESIDENT - COMPLIANCE SURVEILLANCE. This role will be responsible for conducting surveillance (includes Transactional Surveillance; E-communication Surveillance and Audio Surveillance) over monitored employees of all applicable lines of businesses in HSBC to identify incidences of market abuse or misconduct. This role requires detailed knowledge across the relevant business lines & activities and surveillance methods (including bespoke surveillance systems). This role will bring financial efficiencies through significantly reducing HSBC's exposure to regulatory censure and financial penalties.

Role Specification :

·  Review alerts that are generated via automated surveillance system and escalated by offshore team.  
·  Conduct Manual/Tactical Surveillance Controls as per the applicable Surveillance Procedures.   
·  Identify and investigate into potential regulatory & internal misconduct risks by employees.  
·  Undertake timely and accurate resolution of requests by Regulators, senior management and the businesses/asset classes into certain practices, businesses, individuals and events.  Escalate, as appropriate, any material findings or incidents of misconduct highlighted by these reviews.  
·  Support the development of various surveillance controls to identify misconduct and market abuse, including in the testing of next generation of Transaction and E-communication Surveillance systems.   
·  Assist team members with the implementation and roll-out of new surveillance tools and models.
·  Partner with regulatory change and other regulatory SMEs to understand new and revised regulatory requirements, codes of practice and others, ensuring surveillance is correctly positioned to satisfy regulatory requirements and changes and that any impact is disseminated to the appropriate businesses.   
·  Support management in the resolution of audit and control findings.  
·  Produce and present regular MI reports to key internal stakeholders including analysis of the MI.  
·  Foster a close relationship with key front office and other functional stakeholders  
·  User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new automated surveillance tests. Providing detailed analysis and test scripts.

Required Skillset & Capabilities for this role : 

·  Knowledge of financial markets and experiences of working in banking / financial industry.  
·  Understanding of market abuse risks and information control barrier risks.  
·  Markets Surveillance experience, or an ability to rapidly upskill is essential.  
·  The ability to analyze and present complex information in a clear, concise and precise written and verbal format is essential.  
·  A working understanding of the market abuse aspects of RBI, SEBI, SFC, HKMA rules and regulations as well as other relevant global and regional regulation (MAR, MiFID)  
·  An ability to think strategically, with perspective, and demonstrate resilience.  
·  An ability to create supportive environment even while dealing with high pressure situation.  
·  An ability to self-motivate, ‘speak up’ and ‘do the right thing’ .  
·  Strong, practical experience of risk management in a multi-dimensional environment (for example, industry expectations, regulatory pressures, extensive internal scrutiny).  
·  A team player that can contribute to team development, effectiveness and success by sharing knowledge and good practice, working collaboratively with others to create a productive, diverse and supportive working environment.
