We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Risk and Control Manager, Channels.
Principal Responsibilities
Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders
· Articulate the risks and issues within the Channels business (as appropriate)
· Provide advice in order to ensure clear understanding of risk exposure
· Develop and maintain a suite of core reporting and analytics across Global CMB Channels’ and Regions to identify risk areas and opportunity for improvement. This includes using the banks risk management systems and tools
· Drive a proactive and healthy risk culture, building great relationships with Risk Stewards and the BAU business, ensuring products and features are delivered safely and with appropriate controls to ensure ongoing protection of the bank and our customers
· Maintain an efficient control and governance environment which complies with HSBC policy and procedures
· Be involved in change and transformational initiatives
· Represent and campion the compliance and conduct agenda
· Escalate areas of concern to the Channels Global Head of Risk and Compliance as appropriate
Leadership & Teamwork
· Promote teamwork through excellent communication and stakeholder management and champion a positive work culture which enables all to perform at their best
· Cultivate an environment that supports a robust risk culture and structure
· Contribute to effective performance management of the CCO team, using relevant risk management tools, ensuring timely action is taken to minimize risk
· Help drive agile ways of working across the Channels team
· Build excellent relationships across the organisation up to and including ExCo level stakeholders
Requirements
Functional Knowledge
· Background in risk and compliance, preferably within Commercial Banking and Channels/Digital
· Extensive experience in operating across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural global environments
· Proven ability in global solution development and deployment
· Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigor, including being able to contextualise data into business activities and conclusions
· Knowledge of customer and frontline activities, platforms, analytics, and insights
Capabilities
· Outstanding relationship management and influencing skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels
· Adept at balancing multiple and conflicting priorities, comfortable with ambiguity, outstanding organisational and planning skills with great attention to detail
· High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery
· Execution orientated with an ability to leverage resources available to achieve goals
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring that complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
