The UHNW segment is a critical growth area for Global Private Bank (GPB). The segment is the largest by revenues and assets within GPB and a key strategic priority for HSBC.

 

This role is key to support the growth ambitions of our UHNW strategy and will deliver success by providing solutions from across the HSBC group to our UHNW clients, allowing us to increase net new money and substantially increase revenue. In particular, the role will act as the main bridge between the GPB and Global Banking & Markets (GBM) and Commercial Banking (CMB), sourcing solutions for clients from across the product suite.

What you will do:

 

Reporting to the Regional Head of UHNW Solutions Group EMEA (ex UK), the initial focus of the role will be to support the development of the product framework by which the capabilities of Global Banking and Markets (GBM) and Commercial Bank (CMB) are delivered to the UHNW clients of GPB, either through direct onboarding to GBM / CMB or through delivery of GBM/CMB products and solutions by GPB. Such products may include, but are not limited to: Institutional Credit / Corporate Financing, Capital Raising (IPOs / Private Placements), Direct Investments, OTC solutions, Yield enhancement solutions, Strategic Equity Solutions, Risk Management, Illiquid Credit.

 

In this role you will:

·  Client-facing role, to originate wider HSBC Group business opportunities with key GPB clients in EMEA ex UK
·  Actively follow a group of institutional clients: proactively show ideas and maintain a strong relationship
·  Expand product proposition and capabilities to this segment in line with client/sector requirements and create the solutions to UHNW customer needs
·  Establish and maintain networks for collaboration with other HSBC businesses and functions on the product proposition delivery across the investment pillars, client development and enhancement of our service and offerings for UHNW clients
·  Drive revenue growth and grow HSBC’s share of UHNW client wallet through delivery of the product capabilities
·  Contribute to the Content pipeline in terms of product ideas and deals opportunities across the client base
·  Keep abreast of market intelligence and provide regular contribution to identify areas of improvement for GPB to improve to meet UHNW client’s needs

Requirements

·  Experience with client coverage of UHNW segment in EMEA, client facing staff
·  Having run a client facing business targeting sophisticated clients
·  Proven track record in successful business origination and revenue generation
·  Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
·  Highly developed communication skills for use in direct client contact and problem solving
·  Strong customer service focus
·  Attention to detail and the ability to think creatively to solve problems
·  Knowledge of GBM/CMB/GPB product suite
·  Aptitude to deliver at pace
·  Experience across the product set, both GPB and GBM and CMB
·  Business development experience, driving new relationships and revenue
·  Strong interpersonal skills, confident and ability to work at all levels within a global business environment
·  Strong collaboration skills, building bridges and getting stakeholders onboard
·  Strong leadership skills, management of people/team
·  Professional, polished, ability to deal assertively but sensitively with internal and external customers across a matrix environment.
·  Strict adherence to the requirements of confidentiality both Private and Corporate sides. Discretion and integrity essential
·  Calm under pressure; ability to re-prioritise in very short timescales.
·  Flexibility, tenacity and resilience to deal with business demands during periods of high workload, knows how to get things done, tenacious in approach, thinks outside of the box.
