We have an opportunity for a Senior Program Manager to join us for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract in Barangaroo. Senior Program Managers plan, mobilise and direct change programmes of varying complexity from inception to closure. They are typically responsible for leading and managing large scale change programmes and business transformations. They act as a role model, demonstrating active leadership and communication. Program Managers are responsible for executing against and adhering to the Global Change Framework within their programme and instilling good programme disciplines. The role holder has end to end responsibility for all aspects of the programme, defining and planning the programme, managing mobilisation, controlling execution and managing implementation, change and benefits realisation. They work closely with the key stakeholders, sponsors, functions and business to ensure alignment of their programme with the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values and Behaviors. Programme Managers will often play a people / team management role within the projects / programmes they work on. As members of the Transformation function, they may also have line or assignment management responsibility for a group of more junior resources within their resource pool (as related to their job family).
Responsibilities:
· Oversees the development of a well-defined programme plan. Coordinates planning across multiple Project Managers and delivery partner teams.
· Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimises the plan to maximise benefits and minimise risk.
· Working with Delivery Directors / Programme Directors / Senior Programme Managers obtains buy-in, collaborates and influences senior management stakeholders for all key programme plans, commitments and changes.
· Proactively determine, analyse and identify performance metrics and measurements and dictates improvement plans to track and drive on time delivery and adherence to budget.
· Actively manages and co-ordinates the programme plan/roadmap, handling changes as they arise and keeping stakeholders focused on the agreed change outcomes and benefits
· Baselines the plan requirements, designs, budget and scope during Programme Definition. Manages changes through the change control process.
· Challenges and intervenes where there is scope creep, budget overrun, plan slippage and benefits.
· Obtain sponsor and stakeholder sign-off for deliverables, formally close programme, assess stakeholder satisfaction and capture feedback.
· Captures key learns from each programme and feeds back into Global Transformation methodologies and best practice.
Requirements
Requirements:
· Excellent understanding of Business Transformation Frameworks, Agile methodologies and best practice techniques
· A thorough understanding of the purpose, values, culture and fundamentals of the Global Transformation
· Outstanding understanding of HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives
· Strong understanding of banking / HSBC and understanding of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders
· Very strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
· Understanding of the delivery organisations within HSBC – global mindset, understanding of delivery partners etc.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
