We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Risk and Control .
Principal Responsibilities
The overall purpose of this role is to ensure that Group Insurance manages its non-financial risks effectively and to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of that framework.
This covers the following areas:
· Risk and Control Identification and Assessments
· Insurance domain expertise to investigate and escalate global and thematic business specific non-financial risks and issues
· Provision of insurance specific process and control management expertise to markets to cover projects and temporary resource strains
· Back-testing of incidents and issues across Insurance sites to insurance processes that have similar exposures
· Operational Loss and Conduct impact investigation
· Ensuring effective relationships with 2&3 LOD and Other Risk and Control teams
· Providing advice and guidance on the Risk Management Framework, helping Risk and Control managers in its implementation
· Providing dedicated support to Country Risk and Control and CCO teams
· Governing the overall adherence to the Non-Financial Risk Framework including ensuring the quality of the various risk and control profiles (RCAs)
· Undertaking ad-hoc thematic reviews covering specific areas of risk/control concern and to identify and share best practice across Group Insurance
· Providing inputs and supporting collation of the materials and papers for the Group Insurance Risk Management Meeting, and First Line of Defence (FLOD) Forum including the First Line Report
· The role will be expected to independently handle various senior stakeholder interactions globally
Requirements
· Sound knowledge of the Group Insurance business
· Experience of the Group’s Non-Financial Risk Management Framework
· Experience working in a Risk, Audit, Compliance role
· Good knowledge of the external environment
· Ability and drive to successfully deliver multiple, wide-ranging priorities, often under stringent time pressures
· Previous experience of positive interaction with Senior Executives across the business and functions globally
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex issues coherently at varying levels of seniority
· Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
· Proven ability of organisational planning, resource mobilisation and problem solving
· Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly defined problems, including being able to contextualise financial data into business activities and conclusions
· Excellent planning, organizing and commercial skills including strong financial management capability
