We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior GRSR Sustainability Risk Management and Framework Manager

Principal responsibilities
· Relating to ESG Commitments and Oversight, the successful candidate will support the Global Head of Sustainability Risk Management and Framework to discharge their responsibilities in respect of second line oversight of reputational and sustainability risks facing HSBC and change oversight, specifically:
· Support the Global Head of Sustainability Risk Management and Framework with the provision of support to Global Businesses and Global Functions in relation to reputational, sustainability and social risks specific to ESG, including ensuring that high quality papers are presented to relevant committees (RRCSCs, Group Reputational Risk Committee, GRMM or Board)
· Lead and run focused workstreams / projects on ESG specific risk issues as required including audit or other deliverables.
· Tracking and ensuring delivery of GRSR ESG specific change items, governance and audit actions as required
· Interlock to strategic programmes, including the Group Climate Risk Programme
· Plan, mobilise and direct GRSR ESG projects from project definition to closure. They are responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of one or more projects proactively balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, team, outcomes and benefits. Projects can be standalone or form part of a programme.
· Relating to Sustainability Risk Management Framework Embedding, the successful candidate will support the Global Head of Sustainability Risk Management and Framework to discharge their responsibilities in respect to embedding Sustainability within HSBCs Risk Management Framework:
· Be an Sustainability SME for the creation and embedding of Sustainability Risk within our Risk Management Framework, which will involve working closely with Risk Functions, Chief Control Officers, the Climate Risk Programme and Risk and Compliance Transformation.
· This will entail where relevant, the development, ongoing enhancement and embedding of a Sustainability Risk scenarios, a specific RTCL for Sustainability Risk, policies, processes, training and education throughout both 1LOD and 2LOD.
· Identify, document and escalate gaps within our Risk Management Framework, in respect to how Sustainability Risk is managed.
Requirements
· A comprehensive and proven understanding of reputational & sustainability risk specific to ESG, based on significant experience.
· Strong analytical skills to grasp, consolidate and distil diverse and complex sources and ranges of information.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills to articulate often complex, controversial, and subjective issues to a wide range of stakeholders.
· Proven understanding and experience of working with / leading key projects across 1LOD and 2LOD.
· Excellent stakeholder management skills, with proven experience in dealing across Risk Function, Transformation and Business lines.
· The ability to effectively manage multiple workstreams and deliverables, working with and reporting to Senior Management.
· High degree of gravitas, credibility, and strong interpersonal skills – ability to represent GRSR across HSBC and with key investors, regulators, NGOs and other third parties.
· Sets the pace and operating rhythm, driving a culture of achievement and ensures pace by identifying and removing barriers to project success
· Promotes pace and energy within the team and leads by example
