The Regulatory Compliance Manager as part of the First Line of Defense will play an important role in support the Head of IWPB Regulatory Compliance and Change Execution to ensure IWPB Australia’s adherence to regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for driving implementation and ongoing maintenance of compliance frameworks, identifying potential regulatory risks and ensuring compliance obligations are met. The role will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with regulatory changes and developments, ensuring IWPB Australia remains compliant and in line with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
· Support the Head of Regulatory Compliance & change execution ensure IWPB complies with all relevant regulation including APRA and ASIC, and other financial services laws and standards.
· Monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes and trends, advising senior management and business units on implications, and required actions.
· Support when required a detailed analysis of proposed business changes, evaluating potential compliance risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
· Provide guidance and support to teams within IWPB on all aspects of regulatory compliance.
· Being involved in the implementation of external regulatory change and internal change requirements by working with the Regulatory Compliance risk stewards and IWPB Business Transformation teams.
· Produce regular reporting to risk forums of IWPB which is accurate and timely.
· Reviewing, identifying and escalating process & procedure gaps and ensuring that gaps are raised for assessment and remediation.
· Contribute towards an effective customer first culture without compromising adhere to internal controls and compliance.
Requirements
Requirements:
· Solid expertise in Regulatory Compliance.
· Good understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting the Australian Retail Banking Industry.
· Highly developed oral and written communication skills to be able to build relationships with key internal stakeholders
· Proven history of successfully identifying business risk and assisting in remedial procedures.
· Strong ability to adapt to change and manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines, without compromising attention to detail.
· Exposure and/or strong understanding of Wealth Management, Digital, Branch, Contact Centre, Insurance, Customer Propositions, Mortgages and Cards operational controls & processes would be an advantage.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
