We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager, Retail Credit Risk  - Controls Assurance Risk Compliance Assurance Services

Principal responsibilities 

·  Ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely completion of independent control assessments for controls associated with RCR as required by the function.
·  Ensure the quality of work delivered is up-to-standard and ensure compliance with (Controls Assurance) CA and (Risk compliance Assurance Services )RCAS  templates, procedures, and quality requirements.
·  Understand and document the remit, process composition and team handovers of relevant controls.
·  Identify key emerging trends and themes in relation to assigned and relevant risks to inform the CA assessment plan and the continuous development of CA & RCAS methodology and procedures.
·  Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
·  Provide support in developing CA procedures and templates, in collaboration with Controls Assurance Coordinator (CAC), Professional Practices (PP), Automation and Analytics and relevant SMEs, ensuring high operating standards within the division.
·  Provide support on any ad-hoc projects and assessments as requested by the VP/AVP.
·  Understand the underlying risk types mitigated by each assigned control, identify control gaps through operating effectiveness testing and raise issues as appropriate.
·  Determine innovate ways of testing controls in a precise and efficient manner, harnessing analysis of data where possible.
·  Be attuned to the political, management, operational, regulatory, and reputational implications of particular decisions and courses of action. 
·  Assist management in development of controls and systems and influencing the way in which business is conducted in order to manage these risks.
·  Managing the demands of the multiple and diverse aspects of the role.

Requirements

·  Minimum of 2 years proven experience in assurance, audit, compliance or risk management within financial services or other major industries.
·  A good understanding of risk management of Credit Cards and Unsecured Personal Lending Portfolios
·  Awareness on Retail Forbearance and Distressed Restructuring
·  A good understanding of Residential Mortgages, Reverse Mortgages and Collaterals
·  An understanding of Financial Statements, Credit Reports
·  Awareness of Expected Credit Losses (ECL), Impairment and Allowances quantification and assessment concepts (Under IFRS9)
·  Awareness of risk models applied to products such as credit cards, overdraft facilities and mortgage.
·  Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business, finance, law or equivalent experience.
·  Proven ability to multi-task and working independently under pressure to tight deadlines in a challenging and fluid environment.
·  Experience of process mapping and delivering professional reports and presentations gained within a financial services organisation or audit/consulting practice.
·  Awareness of good risk management and governance frameworks including 3 lines of defence criteria
·  Understanding of the activities of relevant business lines and associated compliance risks.
·  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and to engage with HSBC staff within the functions.
