Lead PMO - HBMX Head of Transformation Oversight Office

Role purpose

The HSBC Mexico (HBMX) Transformation Oversight Office is a special unit operating under the Office of the Mexico CEO with a Board mandate to successfully provide oversight, shape, and deliver HSBC Mexico’s most strategic programmes as agreed with the Global Executive Committee (GEC) in Oct 2024, including outcomes such as re-shaping the business, de-risking Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) and fixing the foundations.  

This role reports directly to the HSBC Mexico Head of Transformation Oversight Office and is highly visible to HSBC Mexico Executive Committee (ExCo) and HSBC Group. The job holder has substantial autonomy and authority and ensures that tough questions are raised and answered in a constructive environment focused on business success.

Main activities

Program management

·  Defining appropriate processes and governance for generating, disseminating and refreshing transformation related progress / knowledge
·  Day-to-day overseeing, monitoring, and managing of the transformation status via a synthesized view of individual workstream progress against plan (both within the Transformation Office horizontal workstreams and the business / cross- Line of Business (LoB) workstreams)
·  Owning the PMO central repository of documentation and processes
·  Ensuring standardized and relevant document templates are available from a central repository for both the Transformation Office and workstreams
·  Developing and maintaining calendar of meetings and milestones across the program
·  Coordinating meeting invites, logistics, and communications (including identifying and resolving conflicts)
·  Contributing to the improvement of best practices within the Transformation Office to help drive consistency, visibility, and effective execution on plans
·  Identifying and sharing identified opportunities for Transformation Office improvements
·  Collaborating with Transformation Financial Lead to ensure accurate financial monitoring

Project plans:

·  Coordinating with workstream PMs to ensure development of detailed and actionable project plans based on top-down targets and milestones
·  Coordinating with workstream PMs to collect progress reports and track progress against project plans and KPIs
·  Aggregating workstream level work plans into a central master tracker to track progress
·  Escalating any identified risks or program issues to the appropriate stakeholders, including the Chief of Staff and Head of the Transformation Office

Workstream coordination:

·  Leading the Transformation Office PMO meetings to help drive accountability, visibility, and collaboration across workstreams
·  Coordinating with workstream PMs to collect necessary materials and information for internal and external reports, meetings, and or audits
·  Coordinating with workstreams to collate updates and translate into global PMO tracking mechanisms and reports as necessary

Requirements

·  Outstanding understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviors, processes, and objectives
·  A broad, enterprise-wide view of the HBMX business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
·  Outstanding knowledge of Transformation – functionally, operationally, and financially
·  Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Executives across the group
·  Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments.
·  Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigor, including being able to contextualize data into business activities and conclusions.
·  Evidence of successfully managing plans, risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions
·  Evidence of successfully delivering large scale and complex projects
