We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of IT Lead Architect

Business: Wholesale Technology

Principal responsibilities

·  You will be primarily working in the HSBC Connect service tower accountable for defining the roadmap, strategy, target state architecture and design of Digital Connect Platform & Corporate Treasury API’s.
·  Define solution architecture and design seeking practical approaches that optimize cost and reuse design against HSBC standards ensuring your work aligns to wider strategy and direction.

·  Engage with stakeholders across Business & IT & provide direction and steer by communicating key design principles and key design decisions that underpin your architecture road map and strategy.
·  Your primary focus would be to organically transformation the current architecture to Fit for Future architecture that is powered by Distributed Technologies & Event Driven & Cloud architecture principles.
·  You are also responsible to define strategy for onboarding of customers on to new platform, migration of customers to the new platform and maintain both the old and new platforms in the interim stage whilst ensuring the regulatory requirements are met.
·  This will not be a lift and shift migration and you are expected to future proof the platform by defining the Cloud adoption strategy and taking care of non-functional requirements like Security, Performance, Scalability and Reliability.
·  You will be specifically responsible for providing architecture inputs and steer to the program steer co, chair design authorities and help define the delivery roadmap for the various components involved end to end.
·  You will be working with Delivery leads, Product Owners and peers within the Digital Architecture Team to develop the target and transitional architectures, grounded in achievable investment and delivery roadmaps, that will evolve these services to be channel-agnostic and underpinned by streamlined data models and modern platforms.
·  Focus on design for Cloud and Software As A Service strategies, as set out by the ‘digital by default’ vision. Promote and ensure use of ubiquitous API standards across both processes and systems
·  You are required to be Hands-On to build Proof of Concepts & Stay abreast of relevant technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits / impacts
·  You are expected to provide thought leadership and technical direction to engineering & operation teams as required to achieve desired technical deliverables and be prepared to support aspiring colleagues to start their careers in Architecture.
·  You are expected to build trust and rapport with senior stakeholders in IT and business and provide required advise, guidance & direction to them on critical decisions.
·  You are expected to drive conversations, manage conflicts and arbitrate on difficult conversations to converge the group on to right decisions, resolutions to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

We are particularly interested in people with a passion and a track record for designing and building:

·  Systems for managing real time external API’s deployed symmetrically to multiple regions
·  Integrations with multiple distributed systems & event driven architecture
·  Solutions with performance, scaling and resilience in mind from the start
Below Technical skills are a must have:
·  Experience as an architect to deliver complex solutions and data designs for distributed and high volume transactional systems preferably in Payments Domain
·  Experience building solutions on Distributed Technologies, Rest API’s & Microservices architecture
·  Well versed on Kubernetes, Containers, Docker, Java, Spring Boot frameworks
·  Well versed on API Security, Authentication, Authorization using Open AM or OAUTH or Open ID, API Contract Design (OAS/RAML, REST, and GraphQL)
·  Event driven design and streaming technologies, ideally Apache Kafka and GCP Pub/Sub
·  Expertise on Managed File Transfer solutions like IBM SFG, AWS Transfer Family
·  Experience on BPEM technology and Orchestration engines like Seeburger, Camunda
·  Well versed with Open Source technologies
·  Strong leadership and management ability, motivating IT employee
·  Experience leading architects and providing thought leadership and direction to group
·  Ability to prioritize work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing environment  
·  Strong customer focus & excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in communicating with senior executives
·  Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders
·  Ability to multi-task efficiently, prioritize competing demands, manage key stakeholders & conflict management.
·  Ability to work as part of a Global virtual team across multiple regions.

·  Agile/DevOps/SRE
·  Application Lifecycle Management tooling: JIRA/Confluence, Splunk, AppD, CI/CD automation
·  Domain Driven Design / Test Driven Design
·  Design Thinking
·  Any certifications and accreditations like TOGAF, GCP or AWS, etc
