We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Global Resilience Risk Lead Specialist, Third Party Risk

Business: Risk & Compliance

Role Purpose:

·  Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a sub function of Group Risk. Its purpose is to make sure HSBC understands and is in control of its non-financial risk position. Resilience Risk (RR) Specialists provide expert advice covering specific Resilience Risk lens to ensure high quality advice, expertise and guidance is available across all of the risk types of technology (including cyber) risk; data and information security risk; third party risk; contingency risk; contingency risk; building unavailability risk; workplace safety risk; payments and transaction processing risk.
·  The Global Data & Third-Party Risk (TPR) Specialist team works directly with the Group Data & TPR Steward in ERM to ensure that HSBC understands and is in control of its Data and Third-Party Risk. 

Working with the Global TPR Specialist lead(s), the job holder will be responsible for supporting and delivering the following minimum outcomes:

·  Provide technical advice and support globally to ensure stakeholders understand and are aware of the control environment and assessment of Data and Third-Party risk commensurate with the scale and nature of operations.
·   Ensure the Global Data and TPR policy and guidance is kept up to date from a regulatory and ERM perspective and provide support in the completion of ERM and regulatory reporting obligations.
·  Provide ERM and 1LOD Business & Functions teams to ensure risk and control owners have clear understanding of the effectiveness of the current control environment.
·  Monitor the external and regulatory environment to get early sight of emerging Data and Third-Party risks and regulatory changes and evaluate if any changes are required to Data and TPR policy and/controls.
·  Deliver tailored and specific expertise on Data and Third Party risk enabling 1LOD to successfully deploy and operate mitigating key controls and change within their business. Ensure any concerns with key controls and material change programmes, relevant to Data and Third party risk, are understood and escalated as needed.
·   Support in audit engagement pertaining to Data and Third Party risk to ensure timely completion of audit actions and findings.
·   Attendance at relevant governance forums and 1LOD change, and Data and TPR forums, as required.

Principal responsibilities 

·   The role holder should have strong subject matter expertise of Data and Third-Party Risk, requiring frequent interaction with senior management stakeholders across Regional, GB/GF teams. Scope will include:
·  Providing issues, event and incident oversight, including specialist oversight of technical controls
·  Supporting regional, country and global ERM Managers with all third-party risk related queries
·  Providing advice, guidance and challenge to senior businesses, functions, and entity management, ensuring robust opinion is provided through global governance.
·  Provide support in ensuring the Global Data and TPR policy and guidance is kept up to date from a regulatory and ERM perspective to enable the 1LOD to effectively monitor, manage and govern Data and Third Party Risk within risk appetite.
·  Provide support in the completion of ERM and regulatory reporting obligations (e.g. RAS, top & emerging risks, risk profile reporting, Opinion papers where relevant, etc.
·  Engaging with risk owners, control owners and risk stewards to ensure data and third party risks are managed in accordance to policy
·  Overseeing compliance, for example, through the Risk and Control Assessment process, Top Risk Assessments, and Incident Management proces
·  Engaging with their external network and counterparts to ensure that HSBC remains abreast of market / regulatory developments and leading amongst peers in our approach to Data and Third Party Risk. 

Leadership & Teamwork   

·  Lead a team of Data and Third Party Specialist across the matrix structure.
·  Challenge and influence to ensure Data and Third Party Risk (TPR) specialist advice and guidance is understood and followed.
·  Work in conjunction with ERM Business & Functions team and the wider RR Specialist team covering TPR and Data.
·  Support diversity and reflect the HSBC brand and organisational values.
·   Engage and influence regional and ERM sub functional teams to support delivery of the specialist team priorities and plans.
·  Responsible for supporting the Risk Stewards with internal and external events, providing insight and learnings relevant to controls.
·  Working with the Data and TPR community generate enhanced interlock between global policies, metrics, governance inputs and read across.
·  Support specialist lead with Data and TPR’s assurance approach and analyse outcomes as part of data driven risk management.

Requirements

·  Provide specialist actionable and contextual guidance across Third Party risks, enabling business growth whilst maintaining related risks within appetite.
·  Broad understanding of risk disciplines and the development and deployment of associated governance
·  Proven experience of a relevant control environment such as audit or compliance desirable
·  Problem solving and analytical in applying Risk Management in context.
·  Good understanding of operational risk and third-party risk management
·  Adapting quickly to changing situations and influence strategies with practical, effective commercial solutions through a comprehensive assessment if the non-financial risks are perceived to exceed appetite.
·  Ability to undertake thematic analysis in collaboration with the TPR community to evaluate changes in the risk landscape, trends & event-based triggers, identification of trends/themes to support 1LOD challenge.

·  A BA or BS University Degree
·  Exceptional communication and organisational skills – both written and verbal
·  Ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
·  Maintaining independence of thought and lateral thinking to assist in optimising the level of business control and maximising efficiency.
·  Flexible, adaptable, and confident; able to work in ambiguous situations.
·  Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
·  Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
·  Experience of working in a data and framework role
·  Strong level of risk management knowledge and relevant experience
·  Ability to work collaboratively with all 3 Lines of Defence at all levels, strong influencing skills
