We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data & Analytics Office Group Data Execution Programme Director

The HSBC Data & Analytics Office (DAO) promotes a data-driven culture across HSBC through our strategy of:

The DAO Group Data Execution Programme Director will drive the management and delivery of all three pillars (above) of the Group Data Execution Programme (GDEP), in line with DAO’s strategic objectives.

The role holder will be responsible for:

·  Influencing the programme approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the programme plan, commitments and changes whilst constantly analysing the delivery model to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency
·  Supporting DAO GDEP teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications and budget
·  Providing management to maintain a focus on how the programme aligns to wider DAO objectives, the Data Strategy and the change portfolio across HSBC
·  Overseeing the monitoring and reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to the DAO ExCo and other internal stakeholders and/or steering committees
·  Making recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
·  Establishing effective governance and controls whilst coordinating geographically disperse teams, taking into account Regional, Global Business and Global Functions delivery requirements
·  Creating and leading a cohesive, global/regional stakeholder engagement strategy to support the GDEP’s vision and strategic objectives

Principal responsibilities

Impact on the Business:

·  Manage the overall execution of the Group Data Execution Progamme
·  Define, shape, communicate and lead the GDEP to enable DAO to deliver value to business stakeholders
·  Drive / support programme delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks

Customers / Stakeholders:

·  Work closely with colleagues across DAO to ensure appropriate resource planning aligned with delivery demands
·  Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
·  Manage conflicting priorities effectively to meet challenging deadlines

Leadership & Teamwork:

·  Set up and resource the GDEP to align with the programme objectives and outcomes, managing plans and dependencies in order to deliver to the required scope, budget and timelines
·  Promote and recognise cross-cultural working and communication within teams by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action
·  Share knowledge and understanding to support development of GDEP teams
·  Take prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and / or he best interests of the business

Operational Effectiveness & Control:

·  Establish governance model and support delivery / management
·  Ensure oversight of plans and ensure appropriate change control processes and impact assessments are maintained
·  Drive / support the adoption of HSBC standards and work in alignment with Change framework

Major Challenges:

·  Ongoing changes to the level and structure of the DAO function
·  Data Risk (incl. data quality and mismanagement)
·  GDEP funding

Role Context:

·  Role located in India
·  Reporting to Head of DAO Change & Portfolio Management

Management of Risk:

·  Demonstrates leadership on regulatory and compliance matters
·  Maintains awareness of risk and minimizes the likelihood of it occurring through its identification, assessment, mitigation and control

Observation of Internal Controls:

·  Maintains HSBC internal control standards and addresses audit points and/or any issues raised by regulators in a timely manner
·  Fosters a compliance culture within the team, managing compliance risk and ensuring that the necessary training is completed
·  Optimizes relations with regulators

Requirements

·  Familiarity with financial services organisations and more specifically HSBC’s structures, values, behaviours, processes and objectives
·  Change delivery expert with demonstrable experience of managing significant transformation and global organisational change programmes in a large matrix organisation
·  Highly energetic and resilient individual capable of managing significant Programme budgets to quality, time and scope
·  Ability to lead and manage Project Managers and BAs, locally and globally, to ensure the highest standards of project delivery are achieved
·  Evidence of promoting positive change in processes, procedures, products, services etc. to deliver financial, people or efficiency goals
·  Strong People leader / positive role model with strong evidence of collaboration and influencing skills
·  Experience in implementing initiatives to increase professional excellence and capability across a breadth of roles within a matrixed organisation
·  Experience in driving, communicating and providing talent management to senior managers in a global organisation
·  Experience in interpersonal communication (written and verbal) skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group
·  Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple geographies and domains
·  Ability to prioritise workload and respond to changing and varied demands. Recognise and act upon timely escalation of issues
·  Organisational and planning skills
·  Excellent understanding of Agile
