We are now looking for an Associate Director, Treasury Solutions Group, in our Zurich office, or potentially at another European HSBC office location. This role is based within HSBC’s Global Payments Solutions (GPS) business. 

The Treasury Solutions Group (TSG) is a practice in GPS that creates a differentiated value proposition for clients seeking to actively transform their treasury, guiding them in their journey with our knowledge, experience, and best practice. TSG expertise help client treasuries identify needs and challenges, and help solve these in a holistic and collaborative way. Through this process, TSG is an enabler to cement long-term GPS opportunities across our client base, as well as an originator of related FX and Supply Chain Finance solution opportunities for HSBC.

What you will do:

The role is to be responsible for the development and execution of the TSG practice and will have a predominantly market and client facing focus. The role demands a proactive and continuous engagement with key clients and client-facing functions in an advisory capacity across a range of payments, liquidity, and treasury topics. As a thought leader, the role holder will be required to represent GPS and HSBC in external public fora, media, and events on such topics.

The role reports to the Global Head of Treasury Solutions Group and is based in Switzerland or potentially another European location and supports engagements across all key Treasury Center markets globally. Some travel is expected.  

  In this role you will:

·  Meet Corporate Treasurers (clients) at a strategic level of thinking and help shape their treasury transformation roadmap

·  Through the relationship teams, work with clients to bring efficiency and effectiveness in their treasury and working capital processes

·  Enable advance placement of our solutions in a pre-sales engagement with our clients

·  Support sales execution with structuring liquidity solutions and related pricing

·  Develop treasury review frameworks, methodologies to define & analyze problem statements, gap assessment, recommendation playbook and similar artefacts to scale-up TSG practice across the firm

·  Work with internal and external partners, develop treasury benchmarking & diagnostic tools, adopting data-driven approach and digital tools

·  Develop treasury best practice materials by drawing on expertise across the firm, as well as, by applying learnings from client engagements

·  Design & deliver globally consistent training programs, covering treasury and payment industry themes & topics, enabling frontline teams in their strategic conversations with their clients and stakeholders

·  Drive thought leadership on topics and themes which are top of mind of Corporate Treasurers and CFOs, ranging from ‘here & now’ issues to forward-looking subjects in the industry, including trends in technology, platforms and eco-systems

·  Develop GPS profile by taking up speaking engagement at Industry Events, HSBC/GPS proprietary Events, Client Roundtables etc. Work with Marketing and various content teams to help elevate the quality and effectiveness of sponsored/proprietary events

Requirements

·  Proven experience of leading treasury function in a multinational corporate (MNC) or similar organisation, and/or, as a lead treasury consultant advising corporate clients on complex treasury and banking requirements

·  Consulting and/or implementation experience of treasury set-up, centralisation, standardisation and change management projects

·  Practical and/or advisory experience in the area of treasury management systems and functions, in multi entity Corporate environment 

·  Consulting and/or implementation experience around Treasury risk management, across both financial and operational risks dimensions, by evaluating technical issues, conducting data-driven analysis, design and deliver solutions

·  Practical and end-to-end experience of operating liquidity & funding, FX, hedging and investment management activities in a multi legal entity and multi-jurisdictional Corporate environment

·  Experience in setting risk appetite and budgets, developing treasury policies and implementing those operational practices and systems of work 

·  Experience in setting Treasury and working capital metrics and implementing data-driven methodologies to measure, report and benchmark performance – driving improvements over time

·  Track record in thought leadership on topics and themes which are top of mind of stakeholders, from CFO/CEO in the organisation, banking and payments partners, treasury technology providers

General qualifications and competencies :

·  Role relevant qualifications, e.g. Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or Commerce 

·  Certification or Diploma in Treasury and related areas from recognised professional body

·  General understanding of banking, payments and cash management practices, prevailing regulations, awareness of international corporate tax rules and relevant accounting standards

·  Conversant with balance sheet and P&L ratios, their impact and relevancy to working capital. 

·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences, experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered

·  Experience in designing & delivering presentations to internal and external audiences

·  Strong and effective stakeholder management skills, ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust with clients and stakeholders

·  Strong commercial awareness, numerical/ analytical skills, interpersonal skills and effective team player 

·  Fluency in written and verbal professional English is mandatory

·  Fluency in German, French or other languages will be a plus
