The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Worker's Compensation & Leave of Absence Coordinator to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.
Classification : Full-Time
Shift : Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay Rate : The pay range for this role is $24.00 - $26.00 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?
The Human Resources Worker's Compensation and Leave of Absence Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining, filing and handling all Worker’s Compensation cases and working alongside Safety and Security Department with their efforts to reduce Team Member accidents and improve Team Member safety for the hotel and managing Leave of Absence for property
· Receive/review claim forms and ensure claims are processed in a timely manner. Maintain information and record as necessary, such as transaction, billing data, etc.
· Evaluate Team Member accident reports for completion and accuracy and gather any missing information
· Serve as technical resource to Team Members concerning their worker’s compensation case and respond to their inquiries/requests. Relay information regarding injury cases to Department head as warrant
· Coordinate with timekeepers to ensure proper codes are entered on timesheets and serve as a liaison between injured Team Member and the Department of Labor’s Office of Worker’s Compensation Program (OWCP)
· Educate injured Team Members regarding their condition, required follow up care and modify duties
· Handle Team Member Leave of Absence inquiries/requests and determine requirements, eligibility, availability, and draft responses in accordance with state and federal requirements
· Effectively coordinate and track all types of leave to include state and federal, medical, non-FMLA, personal, etc. and recognize/initiate Interactive Process for reasonable accommodation and other types of Leaves
· Work closely with the Asst. Director of Human Resources and Director of Human Resources with Labor Relations issues due to Worker’s Compensation or Leave of Absence cases
· Ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations as it pertains to Workers’ Compensation and Leave of Absences
Supportive Functions:
· Assist HR staff members with any administrative functions as necessary
· Assist HR staff members with special events and projects
· Participates in industry organizations
· Participates as a member of the hotel's Safety Committee
· Other duties and responsibilities as requested
