Job description

We are seeking an Analyst to join our EMEA Analytics team! Reporting to the Manager the Analyst plays a key role in providing actionable insights, analysis and reporting to commercial and executive leadership teams to inform major commercial initiatives, decision making, and revenue management strategies. 

They will transform complex data into clear insights that help drive revenue growth and improve commercial performance. This is achieved through a strong technical understanding of how to extract, manipulate and visualize data; an inquisitive analytical understanding of what that data shows and business understanding of the strategic implications for the organisation; and a proven ability to effectively and concisely communicate that story to stakeholders both verbally and in writing. They proactively look for opportunities to engage with regional stakeholders on ad-hoc requests that will support the business, as well as actively participating in global analytics projects.

What will I be doing?

As an Analyst, you will be responsible for:

·  Analysing, interpreting and evaluating performance data from various corporate systems in support of regular departmental analyses and reporting on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
·  Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business problems and gather analytical requirements.
·  Running ad hoc queries to pull data extracts, synthesise analyses, and interpret trends and variances as required for Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Operating Departments and Senior Management.
·  Working with data analysis and visualisation software such as SQL, R, Strategy and Power BI to provide business intelligence.
·  Writing and presenting performance analyses as a compelling narrative, including historic trends and forecast, and making actionable strategic recommendations.
·  Distributing regular and ad hoc reports and analyses to stakeholders.
·  Developing analytical tools that provide enhanced decision support and analysis to corporate and property users.
·  Providing support, troubleshooting and developing enhancements for existing tools.
·  Actively participating in discussions relating to team vision and the design of strategies for new reporting and analytics projects.
·  Identifying performance insights using intermediate to advanced analytic techniques such as linear regression modelling and test and learn frameworks.
·  Identifying opportunities to utilise emerging AI tools and technology.
·  Developing user guides, best practices and training for new and existing tools developed within the team.

 

What are we looking for?

As an Analyst they must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the job:

·  Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills with the ability to interpret large complex datasets.
·  Ability to identify potential issues, solve problems and provide strategies and solutions for the short, medium and longer term.
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills sufficient to effectively present and defend analyses.
·  Ability to engage with ranging levels of seniority across varying geographies and time zones, demonstrating high levels of organisational agility and cultural awareness.
·  Solid attention to detail and ability to spot data issues that often arise.
·  A good understanding and appreciation of the hospitality sector.
·  Ability to manage extensive amounts of information across multiple systems, including but not limited to comprehensive ability with Excel and PowerPoint.
·  Ability and willingness to learn and develop in future state reporting and analytical systems such as Strategy, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, etc as well as emerging AI tools and technology.
·  Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines, and work effectively under time constraints.
·  Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team and display flexibility and resilience as well as a pro-active work ethic.

Required Qualifications

·  Minimum Education: BA/BS Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent qualification or experience.
· 
Experience: Professional experience, including designing, developing and interpreting management reports and dashboards; extracting, processing, analysing, visualising and modelling data; writing for business; and building stakeholder relationship.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·  Functional hotel or hospitality industry experience in Revenue Management, Sales or Marketing.
·  Certified subject matter expert in BI and data tools (including Strategy, Power BI, SQL, R, Python, Alteryx, etc.).
·  Demonstrable experience using advanced analytic techniques (including forecasting, linear regression, test and learn, etc.).
