The Hilton Americas-Houston is looking for their next AM Line Cook to join 1600 Bar + Grille team! 

 

Located inside the Hilton Americas–Houston, 1600 Bar + Grille is an upscale‑casual restaurant known for its farm‑fresh ingredients, locally sourced seasonal produce, and dishes that bring a Texas flair to classic American cuisine. Situated on the lobby level, the restaurant offers a welcoming, modern environment and serves daily breakfast and weekend brunch making it an ideal place for chefs and cooks who want to grow their culinary skills!

Full-Time

Shift Pattern: AM, with the ability to work weekends and holidays

 

The ideal AM Line Cook candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working a busy breakfast line and is confident preparing a variety of breakfast dishes with speed and accuracy. This individual will be responsible for morning prep, executing orders on the line, and maintaining consistent food quality throughout the breakfast shift. Strong proficiency in all egg-cooking methods including scrambled, over-easy, poached, and omelets is essential. The perfect candidate is reliable, efficient under pressure, and brings a positive attitude to the kitchen.

 

What will I be doing?

As the AM Line Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

 

· 
Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards

· 
Work the breakfast line during service, managing a high volume of orders while maintaining proper timing and presentation.

· 
Cook eggs using multiple methods (scrambled, over-easy, poached, omelets, etc.) with accuracy and efficiency.

· 
Complete morning prep duties, including ingredient preparation, station setup, and ensuring product freshness.

· 
Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times

· 
Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products

· 
Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen

· 
Support fellow team members on the kitchen line 

· 
Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
