Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Project Engineer to join our Unison Sensors and Power team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the analysis, design, testing, and integration of high-speed permanent magnet alternators, temperature sensors, speed sensors and probes. This position requires a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
· Execute, with minimal guidance, the analysis, design, testing, and integration of high-speed permanent magnet alternators, power electronics, regulators, temperature sensors, and probes.
· Deliver products that meet business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
· Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
· Prepare design and analysis reports and lead design reviews for assigned projects.
· Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams.
· Serve as the primary technical customer point of contact for assigned projects, monitoring and communicating project status, business issues, and significant developments.
· Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.
· Review drawings and demonstrate a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
· Ensure completeness and accuracy of all design results.
· Utilize Flight Deck tools to improve current business products and processes; document successful projects.
· Concurrently manage multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality while ensuring schedule and cost requirements are met.
· Demonstrate technical expertise in the position and develop/implement standard design practices based on lessons learned.
· Provide factory support and define technical schedule, cost, and program requirements.
· Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
· Participate in organizational efforts in design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing technology, quality, productivity, and other initiatives.
· Contribute to both New Product Introduction and Legacy component projects, ensuring execution aligns with program requirements.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelors degree in Engineering
· Previous experience on a technical work environment
· Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and ability to interpret technical drawings.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
· Willingness to learn and apply Flight Deck tools to improve processes and products.
· Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently.
· Proficiency in engineering software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Characteristics
· Hands-on experience with design and testing electrical components
· Exposure to Lean methodologies or process improvement initiatives.
· Familiarity with GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, or similar frameworks.
