Job Description Summary

The Turbofan-Turbojet (TFTJ) Staff Performance Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives in the field of Engine Performance. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of your expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. You will perform and provide leadership in Performance studies, engine test planning, test coverage and data analysis, and engine/systems integration, working within a matrix environment to support aircraft integration and engine development/production.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Utilize the latest thermodynamic modeling tools and techniques to analyze engine performance data and make program recommendations
·  Support cross-functional teams with Systems, Performance, Operability, Controls, and Transient to execute performance and integration studies/programs
·  Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules, contract commitments, and budget
·  Serve as a technical mentor or role model to less-experienced members of the performance team. 
·  Develop action plans needed to resolve system-level issues 
·  Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services
·  Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field, during the manufacturing processes, and/or during engine testing
·  Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements 
·  Interface with internal and external customers 
·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments 
·  Explain difficult or sensitive information; work to build consensus
·  Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives 
·  Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

·  Bachelor of Science in Engineering
·  At least 8 additional years of experience in Engine Performance or an adjacent discipline
·  GE Aerospace will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Desired Characteristics

·  Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
·  Demonstrated leadership in Engine Performance and systems integration
·  Demonstrated experience supporting turbofan engine integration and production
·  Experience across Systems, Performance, Operability, Controls, and Transient (SPOCT) disciplines
·  Demonstrated experience in engine thermodynamic modeling
·  Demonstrated experience with industry modeling tools including NPSS
·  Familiarity with high level programming languages (Python, FORTAN, etc.) 
·  Strong oral and written communication skills
·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

The base pay range for this position is 149,500 - 200,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.  This posting is expected to close on April 6th, 2026.
