The Senior Solder Technician performs precision electronics assembly, soldering, de-soldering, repair, and wire harness work on aviation hardware including circuit card assemblies, modules, panels, frames, and cables. This role requires hands-on soldering expertise and the ability to perform rework and repair on electronic components to IPC standards.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform precision soldering and de-soldering on electronic components and circuit card assemblies.
·
Conduct rework and repair of electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC standards and engineering specifications.
·
Assemble and route wire harnesses and cable assemblies to detailed customer requirements.
·
Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions to complete complex electronics work.
·
Perform inspection of solder joints and electronic components using microscopes.
·
Conduct component removal and replacement on through-hole and surface mount devices.
·
Maintain compliance with quality standards and perform self-verification of work quality.
·
Maintain cleanliness and organization of soldering equipment and work areas.
Required Qualifications
·
High school diploma or equivalent.
·
Minimum 1–4 years of hands-on soldering experience in electronics manufacturing.
·
Experience with wire harness assembly and cable routing.
·
Ability to obtain J-STD-001 Class 3 and IPC-610 Class 3 certification within 30 days of hire.
·
Experience performing electronic rework, de-soldering, and component repair.
·
Ability to read and follow technical work instructions, schematics, and safety documentation.
·
Ability to lift/move materials up to 35 lbs and work with manufacturing equipment.
·
Ability to work overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
·
5+ years of electronics manufacturing or soldering experience.
·
Experience working in a team-based production environment.
·
Prior IPC-7711/7721 rework and repair certification.
·
Strong understanding of electronics assembly and troubleshooting processes.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
