Job description

Job Description Summary

As a Support Equipment Module Leader, you are the technical project leader behind the equipment that brings our engines to life. You own the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all assembly, disassembly, and transportation tooling for a specific engine module, ensuring our teams can build and move hardware safely, efficiently, and on time.

This is a hands-on, impact-focused role where your decisions directly influence how engines are built, serviced, and delivered. You will be a go-to expert for your module’s support equipment, helping the team move from idea to hardware with speed, confidence, and technical rigor.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Lead a cross-functional design team to execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of engine module assembly equipment, applying sound engineering principles and rigorously adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. This includes both mechanical and electrical engineering across the full portfolio of support equipment.
·  Own and deepen your expertise in the assembly of your assigned engine module, using prior experience and growing technical mastery to effectively execute policy and strategy.
·  Understand and leverage key business drivers, connecting technical decisions to their impact on safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and understanding how your team integrates with other teams and contributes to the broader program’s success.
·  Use your experience and judgment to solve complex problems, often proposing creative solutions beyond established parameters, drawing on internal experts, data, and your own analytic thinking to make well-founded decisions.
·  Champion Support Equipment design standards, knowing, following, and ensuring your team follows all Support Equipment design processes and requirements.
·  Continuously improve how we design tools, identifying opportunities to refine and enhance Support Equipment design processes, standards, and best practices.
·  Stay close to the customer, understanding customer requirements and CTQs, and translating them into robust, practical equipment solutions.
·  Manage project execution, monitoring schedule, cost, and quality of design deliverables and taking action to keep projects on track and aligned with program needs.
·  Partner with manufacturers, supporting prototype builds and resolving issues to ensure designs are producible, maintainable, and ready for use in the field or on the shop floor.
·  Bring equipment to life on the shop floor, validating performance, troubleshooting issues, and driving corrective actions to ensure tools are safe, reliable, and user friendly.

Minimum Required Qualifications

·  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline with strong mechanical focus)
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (or a closely related discipline with strong mechanical focus)
·  Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

Desired Characteristics & Experiences

·  Confident in stress and tolerance analysis: Proficient in stress analysis and stack-up evaluation
·  Hands-on tooling experience: Experience designing assembly and/or transportation tooling and equipment
