Role Summary/Purpose

GE Healthcare Canada runs a two-year training program for College/University graduates interested in a career servicing medical equipment called the Technical Leadership Program. GE install and maintain a complete range of medical equipment from life support systems, patient monitoring, MRI, CT and Cyclotrons and require service personnel to help support hospitals and clinics with this equipment.
Essential Responsibilities

GE Healthcare Canada is looking for field service personnel as part of our Technical Leadership Program (TLP). We require individuals who would be based out of Alberta with the possibility of relocating within Canada as part of their TLP mentoring experience and long term post-graduation of the program. Our program is aimed at providing the technical and soft skills training required to become a successful field service representative in these areas or "modalities." The program includes a variety of "soft skills" training where we have consultants deliver training in areas such as Communication Skills, Negotiation skills, etc., as well as modality-specific Technical Training at our institute in the USA. (TLP's average 5-10 weeks over two years in the USA on training). The people in our program are field based and assigned a mentor where they also receive on-the-job training as well as written assignments, book reports, etc. Ex- Military personnel would receive credit for their previous experience.
Qualifications/Requirements

• College/University Degree in Biomedical Technology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Legal authorization to work in Canada is required
• Geographic mobility
• Valid Canadian Driver's License
Desired Characteristics

1. At least 24 credit hours of coursework toward a bachelors/technical (or equivalent) degree in the function you are interning or a recent graduate from a Bachelors/technical program in the function you are interning.
2. In countries where applicable, a GPA of at least 3.0
3. Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines.
4. Previous experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead, process information, maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the team.
5. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
6. Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
7. Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines.
8. Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse team across different time zones.
