As the successful candidate your responsibilities will be:
o To ensure all site commissioning and installation activities are carried out to the highest standards of Health, Safety and Quality and in a manner that safeguards the environment.
o To ensure that all site commissioning activities are undertaken in full compliance with GE Grid and client policies and procedures, in addition to the UK and international legislation.
o To test, commission and service installed primary and secondary equipment during construction and in-service substation operations.
o To effectively execute projects in line with client and GE expectations, programmes and budgets.
o To ensure accurate on-site test records, reports and quality documentation are created, maintained and circulated in accordance with GE internal governance and GE quality plans.
o To effectively work alongside other assigned staff as part of a team to successfully deliver projects.
o Able to travel throughout UK and globally as and when required.
o Able to work on offshore windfarms.

Job Description

⚡ Responsibilities:

·  Promotes safe working practices and continual improvement in site safely culture.
·  Responsible for the effective and efficient testing and commissioning of substation equipment ensuring that agreed work is carried out in accordance with the pre-set time scales and budgets.
·  Execution of day-to-day commissioning activities to successfully achieve on time delivery of assigned projects. 
·  Preparation, creation and issue of site documentation including but not limited to RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement), NCR’s (Non-conformance Report), TQ’s (Technical Queries) in accordance with approved processes and procedures. 
·  Communicating site non-compliances and or deviations to the Site Manager & Project Engineer.
·  Reports to the Site Manager / Project Manager and Commissioning Manager. 
·  Assisting with commissioning activities to an agreed programme and to pre-set time scales and budgets.

️  Skills & Experience:

·  Basic experience in the testing and commissioning of HV power systems equipment.
·  Basic experience in activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility or plant in accordance with the design objectives or specifications for operational use.
·  Basic understanding in SCADA systems as well as technical skills using PC / DS Agile/ Aview software.
·  Site experience, working at height and working in a construction environment.
·  Ability to communicate effectively, both internally and externally.
·  Demonstrated years’ of experience in testing and commissioning of substation equipment (Generation, transmission and distribution). 
·  Basic experience of working in a HV substation environments.
·  Basic knowledge & understanding of GE Micom and Multilin products will be an added advantage.
·  Familiarity of working with any of the various test equipment such as Omicron, Sverker, Programma and Megger.
