This facility plays a crucial role in de-risking, present and future platforms, energy and propulsion technologies, micro grids and associated systems and solutions for both surface ships and submarines.

Job Description

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Test& Trials Engineer to work for a leading engineering company. Reporting to the Test & Trials Manager you will be a key member of the team delivering significant test programs at the Marine Power Test Facility for power and propulsion systems for both surface ships, underwater platforms and advanced technology programs.

Support the Test Manager in carrying out test programs, operating plant , test program management, safe systems of work and data collection.

· 
Support engineering and commissioning teams in equipment installation / test equipment installation where required.

· 
As part of the Marine Power Test Facility team, to support technical upkeep and maintenance of the internal and external facility, equipment and associated systems.

Essential Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for carrying out testing on equipment used in Marine Power Systems the successful applicant will require prior electrical experience in an environment which utilises SCADA, Switchboards, Variable Speed Drives and Data Logging Equipment.

Main duties will include:

· 
Prepare subsystems for test – power systems line ups and equipment configuration including  cooling and lubrication systems

· 
Operating the plant, carrying out testing in accordance with relevant test procedures and recording data.

· 
Assist in resolving facility infrastructure and equipment problems and concerns as they arise.

· 
Review of and adherence to test procedures , method statements, management of safe systems of work.

· 
Comply with all company and customer health and safety regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

· 
Ideal applicants will have an Electrical background in an industrial or similar undertaking commissioning and test of power systems equipment, power electronics and marine power and propulsion systems or experience in managing industrial or test / development facility type infrastructure and systems.

· 
Preferable Degree Qualified /minimum of  HNC/HND or equivalent level.

· 
Existing or the ability to obtain the higher levels of UK Security Clearance, including “SC Clearance” are required for this role.
 

Desired Characteristics

Significant experience in engineering or industrial facility /test environment.

· 
Experience of working in a typical industrial facility in a maintenance/service environment.

· 
HV Operator / Authorised person

Ability to multi-task on a variety of activities to strict time scales.
