Role Summary/Purpose

GE Renewables Engineering is looking for candidates to join the System Value Optimization Team in Greenville, South Carolina. The System Value Optimization Engineer is responsible for conceptual design of new wind turbines, system simulation through the new product development process, site specific optimization of new wind farms, wind turbine technology identification, and analytical tools and methods development.

Essential Responsibilities

The System Value Optimization Engineer will:

·  Learn and execute the system simulation model (Flex5) for wind turbines
·  Manage distributed runs across both internal and external (cloud) computing platforms
·  Assist with development of analytical, often statistical, methods for loads
·  Assist with development of computational tools including Matlab, Python, and Excel programming
·  Participate in SVO team activities
·  Participate in project team activities
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

·  Strong written and oral communication skills
·  Experience with wind turbine simulation modeling
·  Experience with MATLAB programming
·  Experience with Python programming
·  Experience with distributed computing
·  Experience with product development teams
·  Prior work with GE Renewables Engineering
·  Programming experience
·  Experience with Microsoft Office
