Role Summary/Purpose
BHGE Treasury is responsible to optimize the capital structure of the company, support and execute capital allocation actions and ensure the business is appropriately funded through debt, cash and liquidity management planning, structures and actions. Additionally, Treasury partners with the business to mitigate earnings volatility from financial risk arising from changes in interest rates, foreign exchange and commodity prices and provide commercial support through trade financing.
Essential Responsibilities
The Regional Treasurer is responsible for carrying out BHGE Treasury responsibilities specific to the region. Additionally, the Regional Treasurer is responsible to provide governance and advisory support to regional commercial teams, during the pre-bid phase of commercial transactions to ensure the contract structure appropriately prices, mitigates or avoids financial risks (e.g. foreign exchange exposure, cash trapped in country), and during contract execution ensure treasury infrastructure is appropriately made available (e.g. trade finance instruments and cash management structures).
The Regional Treasurer is also responsible for monitoring changes to local banking or financial or fiscal regulation and promptly informing and partnering with other BHGE functions to design and implement required processes and controls.
As BHGE separates fully from its majority parent GE, we are building out a Regional Treasury team. We are recruiting for three roles which will be the Treasurers for their Regions. The Africa and Middle East Treasurer will ideally be based at our London or Florence hubs speaking Portuguese, but we will consider Paris, Johannesburg or other locations within the Region with willingness to travel
In the role of Regional Treasurer – Africa & Middle East, you will:
· Monitor and ensure all Treasury policies are being complied with in the region
· Build effective working relationships within both the Region and HQ, in order to bridge the two; across multiple countries, businesses, functions (Finance, Commercial, Legal and other), internally and externally
· Be the primary point of contact for all Treasury issues in the Region and local region specific bank relationships
· Be accountable for all regional foreign exchange exposures and for actions to mitigate P&L volatility
· Own the capital structure of all regional legal entities including both internal and external funding and liquidity management
· Ensure that all regional legal entities or countries have acceptable cash forecasting processes in place to support capital structure and liquidity management planning and actions
· Manage Treasury risks within commercial contracting, acquisitions and divestments in the Region including structuring to mitigate trapped cash / cash in illiquid currencies
· Partner closely with colleagues in BHGE Treasury Exposure Management and Cash & Banking teams to execute Regional Treasury actions
· Assist the Region with the provision of letter of credit and trade finance requirements
· Ensure that any joint ventures in the Region follow acceptable Treasury practices
· Execute agreed cash repatriation actions and ensure compliance with exchange, central bank and fiscal controls
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited university or college or equivalent professional qualifications, knowledge and experience
· Proven years of experience in a Finance position
· Prior Treasury or banking experience in emerging and developing markets
