We’re growing our Portfolio Management Office and looking for experienced Project Planners to support our Industry and Marine programs. This is your opportunity to step into a high-impact role at the heart of mission-critical projects. From initial bid through to contract closeout, you’ll play a key role in planning and executing complex customer programs that deliver real-world outcomes in energy, defence, and beyond.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
· Lead the development and management of integrated project schedules — from bid through to handover.
· Coordinate across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, site works, and commissioning.
· Maintain baseline schedules, perform updates, and support change control processes.
· Ensure all stakeholders and suppliers are aligned with key milestones and delivery timelines.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
· Represent the planning function in customer and internal meetings.
· Deliver clear and confident schedule presentations.
· Support commercial teams with schedule-related contract terms and reporting requirements.
· Lead schedule impact assessments for variation orders and internal changes.
Schedule Risk Management
· Identify schedule risks and opportunities early.
· Drive proactive mitigation and support recovery planning.
· Develop “what-if” scenarios and critical path analyses to optimise execution.
Earned Value & Reporting
· Produce schedule-driven insights like Earned Value Analysis (EVA).
· Track progress and report performance to internal teams and customers with clarity and confidence.
What You’ll Bring
· A strong background in project planning for complex engineering programs, ideally in defence, marine, or industrial sectors.
· Experience managing multiple projects in a high-paced, matrixed environment.
· Familiarity with PMI or equivalent project management methodologies.
· Solid understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes.
· Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, data analysis).
· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with a professional, stakeholder-focused approach.
You should have the right to work in the UK, and the potential to achieve higher levels of security clearance (SC).
