Role Summary/Purpose

The Maintenance A - Mechanical/Electrical performs a wide variety of complicated maintenance work, involving setup, installation, alteration, repair or rearrangement of machines, facilities, or equipment and their related controls. Will work a substantial portion of the time in the electric and mechanical skill or trade. Will be required to perform maintenance work other than own specialty.

Essential Responsibilities

Essential responsibilities for the Maintenance A - Mechanical/Electrical will include, but not limited to:

·  Be responsible for setting up, maintaining, altering, installing, repairing or rearranging complex equipment or machines and their related controls
·  Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform corrections with minimum of supervision. Tear down, overhaul, and reassemble intricate mechanisms, machines, apparatus, etc. involving complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and lubricating systems
·  Be able to read, interpret and follow complicated drawings to make accurate alignment, fits or installations of parts, equipment, such as wiring, piping, etc. Work with minimal supervision and make independent sound process judgments
·  Provide mechanical or electrical service on various types of machines or equipment, such as jig border, standard lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, boring mills and grinders, drills, punch press, press brakes, shears, saws, furnaces, motors; various process equipment, and control equipment such as relays, motor starters, control valves, rotometers, pressure switches, chemical or caustic equipment, etc
·  Perform repair or preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment, such as screw machines, straightener, pipe bender, autoclave, swager, welders, deburr equipment, pumps, automatic doors, cranes, fork lifts, battery (golf) carts, process equipment and their related control equipment
·  Install, repair or service such facility or production systems and their related controls as water, sanitary, generators, compressors, chemicals, compressed air, gas, steam, plumbing, and waste treatment
·  Operate various types of moving equipment used in installation and repair work, such as fork lift trucks, platform lift trucks, mobile crane, hoists, etc.
·  Continuously perform duties and tasks conforming to all safety regulations and procedures, and compliance under specific plant permits and other regulations such as NPDES, DWQ, NRC, etc., including correct documentation and follow up to insure compliance
·  Inspect and maintain process equipment tooling
·  Replace equipment tooling such as dies, punches and grinding wheels and perform routine maintenance on process equipment
·  Interact with team leaders, maintenance coordinators, production advisers and other personnel to ensure setup and maintenance activities are consistent with production priorities
·  Assist operators in troubleshooting process equipment issues
·  Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma or equivalent
·  Minimum 3 years experience in electrical and mechanical fields of maintenance work, including ability to read and interpret complex mechanical and electrical drawings, sketches, and schematics
·  Minimum 2 years experience in operating at least two of the following types of machine equipment:  milling machines, presses (for metal fabrication), grinders (for metal fabrication), saws (for metal fabrication), shears, lathes, deburr/edge contouring machines, and skills in welding and fabrication
·  Minimum 3 years experience with at least two of the following gauges: micrometers, vernier scales and calipers, and dial indicators
·  Minimum 2 years of experience with: (a) troubleshooting mechanical and/or hydraulic/pneumatic systems; (b) precision coupling and shaft alignment; (c) precision fitting; (d) machine leveling,  installation, and set-up experience is highly desirable
·  Minimum 2 years of experience with: (a) troubleshooting and servicing control circuits (PLC experience highly desirable); (b) industrial wiring including conduit and wire sizing per NEC; (c) 3-phase systems.  Experience with voltage levels up to 480
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds, and manipulate bulky, heavy machine tools and parts, sometimes in awkward positions
·  Ability and willingness to climb and work at elevated levels
·  Must have corrected 20/20 vision and color distinction
·  Ability and willingness to wear protective clothing relevant to Nuclear operations, including wearing appropriate respiratory equipment
·  Ability and willingness to work shift work in accordance with business needs.  Will be expected to respond to scheduled overtime, hold over or emergency call-in as required
·  Ability and willingness to wear a cell phone
Desired Characteristics

·  Associate's Degree in a maintenance specialty or trade school
