Job Description Summary

The Asheville Lead Manufacturing Training Specialist will establish and maintain the site technical training program for content related to CNC machining, special processes, quality, engineering, and standard operating procedures. Provide in depth perception and insight by conducting whole organization needs assessments, identifying skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed. This role develops and maintains external and internal partnerships to continue pipeline, growth, and competitiveness of our workforce.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Establish the structure for enabling advancement of machinist skills, expectations, and growth of all hourly team members.
·  Provides expertise in analyzing learning needs and designing training solutions in partnership with Operations and Compliance.
·  Partner with the Site FLIGHT DECK Leader to develop a training program aligning with FLIGHT DECK Transformation.
·  Leads and maintains an hourly employee development program for GE Aerospace – Asheville Rotating Parts. 
·  Creates a shared need with business leaders to identify training needs and map out development plans for teams and individuals. Coordinates appropriate trainers by subject.
·  Leads record retention of job classifications, qualifications, and expectations for all levels of machinists and inspectors in the record system of choice.
·  Responsible for the on-the-job training content and documentation.
·  Formulates a new evaluation process for all hourly operators, building employee development plans in.
·  Works together with business leadership and Compliance to fulfill training requirements.
·  Partner with Human Relations to assist with new hire onboarding and recruiting events.
·  Designs and prepares educational aids and materials as needed.
·  Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism regarding sensitive information.

Required Qualifications

·  Bachelor’s Degree accredited  college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Training Programs)
·  Minimum of 3 years of Training Programs experience
