Role Summary/Purpose

The Finance Team at GE Research is looking for a Spring Semester intern in the area of Finance and Accounting. The team provides comprehensive financial planning, reporting & analysis to our Global Corporate Leadership. Our goal is to streamline processes, create tools & analytical solutions to simplify financial reporting and drive efficiency across the company.
Essential Responsibilities

This internship opportunity will help students gain valuable hands-on experience and get a critical jump start on a career in a corporate finance department for a global company. Interns work side by side with experienced members of our teams -- completing challenging project assignments, applying their knowledge and creative problem-solving solutions to business issues and developing skills in a cutting edge global environment. The program also includes seminars to build cross-center knowledge, soft skills development and opportunities for networking.

The intern will be involved in:

·  Building up a financial and operating plan for a real business or a process

·  Relationship building with our diverse team members as well as our business stakeholders

·  Tackling a project and opportunity to lead and solve problems

·  Analysis skills by dissecting big data and connecting the dots to create a meaningful story

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Current enrollment in an accredited university seeking degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting

·  Current GPA in major 3.0 or higher

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  Ability / Availability and willingness to work onsite in Niskayuna, NY

Desired Characteristics

·  Preference given to rising Sr seeking BS in Finance with GPA 3.5 or higher

·  Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, high self-confidence and have goals for a career corporate finance

·  Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and willingness to be flexible in a team environment

·  Experience in presentation, speaking, organizational, and problem solving skills, thorough attention to detail

·  Ability to adapt to change and willingness to be flexible in a team environment

·  Examples of effective time management and organizational skills

·  Ability to balance multiple priorities

·  Excellent language skills

·  Proficiency in MS Office products, specifically Excel
