Job Description Summary
The Electrical Harnesses and Leads Engineer-in-the-shop functions as a link between Supply Chain operations and the Engineering Departments to communicate and help to resolve problems related to product requirements or design intent that may affect Unison deliveries. Communicates with Engineering groups to comply with regulatory, airframe and procedural requirements. Collaborates providing solutions to issues and providing Corrective Action involving Engineering.

Roles and Responsibilities
· Performs activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related issues: Reviews engineering specifications, drawings, regulatory items and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
· Provides technical engineering support to improve or resolve design, performance, manufacturing, supplier or field issues.
· Serves as Work Instructions approver on behalf of Engineering Department for legacy programs.
· Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on applicable documents that affect manufacturing operations through creation or coordination of Engineering Changes, ensuring approval and proper implementation of design changes.
· Conducts and collaborates in Root Cause Analysis investigations and provides Engineering reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies or systems to determine nature and scope of problem. Creates plans to examine, measure, inspect or tests defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications.
· Assesses applicable MDR and makes sure proper PRC disposition is provided and addressed for Engineering MRB processing.
· Collaborates to create rework/repair procedures and/or salvage dispositions with respect to Engineering specifications, concepts and integrity of design.
· Maintains records or oversees recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented (Support Central)
· Provides insights of manufacturing/quality procedures to the Engineering department as part of the APQP application and Design for Manufacturability
· Identify opportunities to eliminate redundant manufacturing processes and/or reduce the cost of manufacturing while ensures that design requirements and product integrity are not compromised.
· Provide feedback to Engineer Department on regards to manufacturing/quality processes.
Required Qualifications
· Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
· Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechatronic, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; or Master in Science Electrical or Mechatronic; or PhD in Science.
· Previous experience at a Manufacturing Shop or Repair facility.
· Hands-on experience of some manufacturing methods such as machining, bending, welding, crimping, braiding, stripping, cable assembly, etc.
· Experience in complex – low volume – products that demand extensive labor is a plus.
