Role Summary/Purpose

GE Aviation Wales are offering high quality 3 year Apprenticeships in:
• Aerospace Mechanical Engineering,
• Aerospace Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (Machining),
Our apprenticeships are in partnership with Coleg y Cymoedd, Nantgarw campus, commencing September 2016. This is a brilliant opportunity within a well-established, global aviation company based in Nantgarw, Cardiff.

Essential Responsibilities

Please state a preference for either Aerospace, Electrical or Manufacturing on your cover letter.

The Engineering Apprenticeships are demanding schemes, which require analytical skills, a logical mind, numeracy, communication skills, teamwork, good manual dexterity, problem solving skills and the ability to read and interpret diagrams and instructions.

The apprenticeships will be broken down as follows:

• Year 1 – Full time at Coleg y Cymoedd
• Year 2 – Four days on site at GE Aviation with day release to college
• Year 3 – Full time at GE Aviation

Upon completion, qualifications achieved will be both a BTEC Level 3 and NVQ Level 3 in the relevant fields.

Qualifications/Requirements

Successful candidates will be placed into one of the three available apprenticeship schemes depending on preference, availability and skill set.

Salary details:
• Circa £10k rising to circa £17k

Entry requirements:
• Applicants must have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of 5 GCSEs, at least Grade C or above, to include Mathematics, English Language and Science. BTEC in Science will also be considered.

Desired:
• B in Mathematics or a recognised engineering/technology qualification such as BTEC Level 2 Engineering or City and Guilds Level 2 Engineering.
