Our engineers dedicated to Naval are involved in solving exciting challenges through leading the development and delivery of the engineering aspects of our projects. Projects that range from designing, de-risking and delivery of new power / propulsion and energy system solutions alongside digital & automation technologies to our UK and international customers both to surface and submarine systems.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the EI&C Engineer (LabVIEW) will include the following:
Developing software principally in LabVIEW and National Instruments Test stand for new test equipment,systems, data acquisition and control systems.
Design the overall architecture of the application, ensuring it is maintainable, extensible, reliable and efficient. Integrate the completed parts of the application into one application and validate the system complete with hardware including with the systems under test.
Support of existing NI/LabVIEW systems, providing maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis, repair, and upgrades/development as required.
Supporting the development of other Engineers.
Participate in Design reviews.
Liaise with the other teams and disciplines within the company and customers and suppliers at all levels to produce requirements and other system documents.
Perform Factory Acceptance Testing and Commissioning Work to the company's Quality Procedures.
Assist in other areas of the business as required.
Essential Skills
Demonstrable experience of software design in the Test & Measurement industry, ideally in high-speed real time applications.
Experience of software design process from development of brief through to final validation, commissioning, and in-service support.
LabVIEW experience (CLD minimum desirable but professional development is available to the right candidate.) National Instruments TestStand experience would be advantageous.
Degree/H.N.D. in Electrical/Software Engineering discipline.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and software debugging experience.
Knowledge of electrical circuit operation/design.
Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
The applicant must be a sole national British citizen and have a valid UK passport and a valid full UK driving licence
