Work with a team of individuals to build wind turbine blades out of fiberglass.

Job Description

Full job Description:

  • Wind fiberglass around metal bushings using a winding machine. 

  • Cut and apply infusion tubes to netting in specified patterns.  

  • Inspect received balsa sheets and repair any imperfections which are out of tolerance. 

  • Prepare fiberglass pieces by cutting from a roll to pattern or length, rolling it, and marking it with the appropriate layer code 

  • Ensure all materials used is according to the work instructions and approved from the quality department 

  • Notify supervisor immediately of any near miss or injury, no matter how slight. 

  • Seek guidance from fellow coworkers or supervisor regarding various issues.  

  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working alone or with a team. 

  • Attend crew/department meetings as required. 

  • Attend plant meetings as required. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.  
  • Requires usage of respirator.  

  • Ability to operate basic hand tools.  

  • Ability to operate power tools.  

  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.  

  • Ability to lift of carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.  

  • Ability to push/pull heavy objects 

Desired Characteristics:

  • High School Diploma/GED or related job experience.  

  • Previous manufacturing experience.

  • Previous composite materials experience. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.01 - $25.36 per hour

Position Shift: Mon-Fri 5am-1:30pm
