Role Summary/Purpose

The EID (Early Identification) Program is GE’s Internship Program designed to identify high-potential engineering students early in their academic career as possible candidates for GE Edison program (EEDP) or direct hiring.
The Internship Program offers students the opportunity to experience a real-life work environment at GE, while developing the professional skills critical to a successful career.
Essential Responsibilities

The internship assignment offers:
• Challenging work assignments on GE’s technology fields
• Formal goal-setting and appraisal processes
• Multiple resources: manager, mentor, buddy, etc.
• Networking and social activities
• Rewards and recognition based on performance

Essential Responsibilities
• Finish a 2+ months assignment in one GE technology function
• Meet the evaluation criteria in the assignment team
• Complete required internship trainings defined in the program
• Present the project summary upon completion of the assignment

1. Aircraft Engine program

Role Summary: Work with airframer for system design and integration, flight test and certification support.

2. Aircraft Engine Service System

Role summary: Lead cross-functional team to support airliners for fleet stability

3. Aircraft Engine Service Technology

Role Summary: Implement engine physical analytics of the fleet, Develop repair technology and Guide for engine maintenance, repair and overhaul.

4. Aircraft Engine part and nacelle design

Requirements: Master degree or above in mechanical/aerospace engineering
Role Summary: Engine and Nacelle part design and analysis for new products and sustained products

5. Aircraft Engine -Engineer in manufacturing Shop

Requirements: Master degree or above in gas turbine related majors /Aerospace engineering
Role Summary: Support engine part manufacturing in shop

6. Aircraft Engine Manufacturing Process and Additive technology

Requirements: MS or Ph.D student in mechanical engineering or material science
Role summary: Provide technical support to GE Aviation Lab, shops and suppliers in CAM and other Digital solutions.

7. Aviation Big Data Analytics

Role summary: Participate in airliner big data processing, modeling and algorithm development to drive insight of operation efficiency, maintenance cost, services and asset optimization.

8. Aircraft Avionics integration and verification

Requirements: Subject of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Role summary: Support airframer for avionics system integration and verification.
Qualifications/Requirements

• Pursuing a Master’s Degree or above in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronics, Control, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Material, etc. [See GE Business-specific requirements]
• Demonstrated Academic excellence with a minimum GPA requirement (3.0/4.0);
• Passion for engineering with strong technical attitude, innovation spirit, and an analytical approach to problem solving;
• Strong commitment to a career in technology;
• Self-motivated, self-confident team play with mature & positive attitude and fast learning ability;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin
